Auto Dealer harrasses US Marine over purchase of new vehicle Ripoff

My husband and I purchased a truck through Midway Chevrolet. This is the first new car he has had since his return home from Iraq. My husband served honorably in the United States Marine Corpse for four years. He served two tours in Iraq protecting the very lives of the people who are trying to take advantage of him.

At the time of our new purchase we traded in our '05 Cavalier. 48 hours later we started receiving harrassing phone calls from the so-called sales manager telling us we had to come in and sign a new agreement or return the truck. After 7 days of harrassing calls and blatant threats left on our machine, we went in with the agreement that we would return their truck and they would return our car.

We had decided to take our business elsewhere. When we arrived they wasted 2 hours of our time trying to "work another deal." Finally they told us to head to customer service and they would retrieve our car. Another 2 hours went by - we still did not have our car, every "manager" who we spoke with had magically disappeared, and no one could give us a straight answer.

They came back to us and told us that our car was in a locked lot and they did not have the key for it. They told us to take the truck we were returning and they would have to call us with an answer later that day. Throughout the rest of the day we received many calls saying they were working on it. At the end of the day, we received a call saying the car would be delivered to us on Monday, 8/13/07. At 11am on 8/13/07 we received a call saying that the car had been sold at auction last week (it wasnt in a lot) and that due to this we HAD to sign a new deal with Midway Chevrolet.

At this point we told them no and they then threatened to "cash out" our previous contract, making it so that we had to accept the deal. At this point, we sought legal advice. We were able to get enough people involved so that now, 3pm on 8/13/07, they are saying they will deliver our car on Thursday 8/16/07. With their past history and their deceitfullness and underhanded way of business, I would not be surprised if they did not show up at all. We have contacted the Phoenix Crime Stoppers Division, the AZ Attorney General's office and now Channel 3. If we can help consumers understand that Midway Chevrolet has absolutely no respect for our soldiers, their families, and for those looking for a new vehicle our ordeal will be worthwhile.

It is amazing to me that a company who has an American Flag streaming across their website has the audacity to try and take advantage of a soldier who fought night and day for their freedoms!!!
