I purchased a 2002 Saturn that had about 10,000 miles off the Saturn lot - in July.in April I get in the car to go, and the ignition is locked - cant turn the key at all - Take it to Saturn - they replaced the ignition switch which cost me almost 600.00-
About 2 weeks ago - the same thing happens - I call them - and they tell me - if I was dissatisfied, I should have brought the car back immediately (did not know I was dissatisfied until the ignition would not work again) Take it back to Saturn - they tell me the ignition cable is worn and it is going to be another 200.00. Well - I was fit to be tied - Eventully I got them to just charge me for the part, but still had to pay them 50.00 for that.
Last night I get in my car - and guess what? Wont start again - ignition was locked again - Called Saturn, told them I was stranded - they offered me NO help what-so-ever - Just said "if you get it started, bring it back" Had to wait from 7pm until 10pm on the side of the road for AAA roadside assistance - The wrecker driver was eventually able to get the key to turn, but said that the problem is not fixed-
Tried to contact Saturn via email last night - and their stupid website is as dependable as their cars are - Got a call from Saturn this morning - guy tells me - "oh sorry - I called the wrong person". I dont have the time or money to keep spending money to repair a car that has only 25,000 on it - and isnt even fully paid for yet - If they tell me I have to spend more $ today, I am going to contact the local news consumer assistance-
By the way - the girl I works with has a Saturn too - same problem - gets stranded because the ignition wont unlock - Do you see a pattern here??? Will update - asap
