Well, it all started out with an add on the radio for loan zone. Zero down and $99 a month. GREAT! I was in desperate need of a new car, but was wanting to wait 3 or 4 months to pay off a few bills. But i figured no down and only $99 a month, i could do that. I had a bankruptcy due to 30k in medical bills that I couldn't pay so my options were limited. So I called there number and got pre approved! I was sooo excited. They directed me to Larry H Miller Ford in SLC. This was quite a drive for me, because at the time, i lived in Tremonton.
I called the dealership ahead of time, to see if they had anything that would work for me, they said they did, so me, hubby and my son piled in the car and away we went.
The sales people were VERY friendly and everything seemed to go so smoothly. I even commented to the staff that this was the best time I had ever had buying a car. WOW! If I could only have seen the future. HAHA!
Basically the way it worked was you have to pay the whole payment, which for me was $445.76 a month. Then the dealership would send me a check for the difference between the $99 a month payment and the $445.76. GREAT! ~ sounds good. Contract and everything is signed, we are getting ready to leave and notice a quite LARGE scratch and dent in the bumper. We asked the salesman about it and he said he never noticed it before. He calls his manager on the phone (everyone had gone home it was about 11pm). The sale manager says he knew it was there, and since they gave us such a good deal on the car, they were not going to fix it. Good deal. OMG! Paying 32000 for a car worth 14000, isn't what I call a good deal, but we really liked the car and because of the bakruptcy we knew we were going to get screwed, so away we went.
Two days later, the phone rings, turns out they messed up ALL of our paper work and we have to resign. They are very nice and send someone half way to meet us with the paperwork. She says good news is, our payment will be a week later because it is just getting filed since it was wrong.
Three weeks later, i still had not received the plates and my hubby was leaving in 10 days on a business trip and was taking the car. I called to ask about the plates. They said they would look into it and call me back. I still had not received the $1040 to go towards the car payments, but I was more worried about the plates. They did not call me back! I waited a day, then called again, got voice mail and left a message. No one called back. And it was a saturday. I called back again on monday, more voice mail. No one called back. I called 3 more times that day and only talked to the receptionist. Called again the next day, still not a live person. So it comes down to the day before hubby is to leave, i am getting quite annoyed, i tell the receptionist that I have to talk to a live person, i need the plates, the temps are expired and my hubby is leaving town in the morning. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes, she comes back and says she is transferring me. GREAT! I got voice mail again! I waited about 5 to 10 minutes, then called back, I was sooooooo mad I needed to cool of for a few minutes. Finally got a person with some kind of brain on the phone she assured me they would send someone to the DMV first thing in the morning and hubby could pick up the plates on his way out of town. Well at least they got that done.
Two weeks before my first car payment was due, i called them because i still had not recieved the money they owed me. More voice mail... I called everyday at least once a day and never got a live person. I mailed them a letter, i faxed them. I got ZERO response from anyone. I ended up having to pay an attorney to get the money for me. Funny thing was, i didn't even have to tell him who owned the dealership, seems Mr. Miller has quite a rep. Even the small town lawyers in Tremonton know of his evil business practices.
I even contacted Get gephardt. They would not touch it. I dont remeber exactly the response, was something like i needed to exhaust all other measures first, which besides getting the lawyer, i had done.
Now to have to deal with the COMPLETE idiots at prestige Financial that call before my payment is not even due, send my over the internet checks through my account more than once, and insist that they haven't received my payment, but it cleared my checking account. Everytime I hear the name Prestige Financial I cringe.
And this is for Lidia the idiot who posted saying it is basically our fault they harrass us, Not it is not MY fault that they are incompetent and screw up everything they touch. It is not my fault they call DAYS before my payment is due, and it is not ANYONES fault they harrass us except theirs. There is a way to collect payments (if you are even late) that does not include HARRASSMENT!!!
I have had the car for 18 months now, still love the car and I am in the process or refinancing... SO long Prestige Financial and Larry H Miller. I will never to business with any of your dealerships, movie theatres, restaurants or anything else you own. You have gotten everything you are getting from me and ripped me off for the last time. Its my opinion that if someone rips you off, you should NEVER give them another dime.:)
Hope ALOT of people reaad this and learn from my mistakes.
