My ex husband had purchased a vehicle from larry Miller and was financed by Prestige Financial in 2006. He and I divorced in 2008.
He refused to take the vehicle when he left and not only left me with three kids but a $600 car payment. My name was not on the loan but he managed to get prestige to come after me for the payments.
Me being a single mother lost my job in August so I called Prestige and informed them that there would be no way I could continue to make a $600 payment every month.
They did tell me that we could make new payment arrangements and offered to lower my payment to $575... Big difference I know. I told them that I still could not afford that.
I told them that I needed to give the vehicle back but they refused to accept this. They called me every month... Several times... I told them over and over to come get it. They finally came and got it a few days ago... This is January... So what six months later.
Now they are threatening to sue me for the remainder of the loan plus repo fees, attorney fees, still charging late fees and a daily interest charge.
