You will see a lot of job openings to work at Nissan Forklift (Marengo, IL), however I would like to take a moment to tell you why there are so many openings, as well as pray you don't make the same mistake...
3 months ago I started in what would be considered a Customer Service-type position. Everything was ok at first, there was a Nissan Forklift Training Manager who would flirt with me (I am married!), make inappropriate sexual comments and gestures, send pornographic emails, and the like. I would get embarassed, turn red in the face, look the other way (nothing to encourage this type of behavior). I mention it to my boss, but nothing was ever done. Kind of the "Guys will be Guys" thing...
Anyways, in May there was a Nissan Forklift company-sponsored event, in which NFC provided two "free" alcoholic drinks to everyone in the sales department at a local bar/restaurant in Marengo. I am an extremely shy person, and didn't want to even go, but it was required that we attend so I went for my two free drinks. A third one was bought for me by another Nissan Forklift sales rep (he said he would put it on the Nissan "expense" account), so my drink was ordered by him and (without my knowledge!) extra "shots" added, as I briefly stepped away to the bathroom.
To make a long story short, the Nissan Forklift Training Manager told me he would drive me to my car parked behind the library as it was raining (I know what you're saying, stupid, naive, trusting, don't go, don't do it), too late, he says get into my back seat and then sexually assaults me.
I report it immediately to my boss, who (finally) tells H.R., but not until the following morning. Meanwhile, I type up my complaint and bring it to the H.R. Vice President, giving incidents in which this Training Manager exposed himself, locked me in his office, tried to kiss me, and the assault (which I also reported to the Marengo police).
Ok, I will make this as short as possible... Anyways, immediately after submitting the complaint in writing, I'm put on a leave of absence while these inept H.R. People at Nissan Forklift try to pull old emails and (I don't know if they ever did), interview the witnesses I provided. Two and a half weeks later, they call me to say that the results of the investigation were inconclusive and that a determination could not be made!?!?! Through the Freedom of Information Act (because of the Police Report), emails like "I want to get you in my office, put you up aganist the wall and bend you over, " are considered acceptable? The list could go on... But to make matters worse, (Ok, this is the best part) - the Training Manager (of course) denies anything ever took place to the H.R. Nissan Forklift People, but when he goes to the police and (finally) breaks down, he admits that he lied to Nissan Human Resources and that my boss (who originally took my complaint to H.R.) went to him ahead of time, before he was ever called down, and told him that he would be and shouldn't say anything, that it was just his word against mine...
Platinum performance, but platinumally screwed!!
