On April 24 I went to Larry H. Miller Dodge and was very interested in getting a new car. It started off by them checking my credit and telling me how much my trade in was worth. Of course they told me that they would give me between $1500.00 and $1000.00, not what I was expecting, but was close to the KBB. Next they came back and told me that I was approved for a lease and that my payments would be about $400.00 a month for 27 months and that was with a down payment of $800.00 AND my trade-in.
So I told them that I didn't have anything for the down payment right now and I was looking to get the payments at LEAST $100.00 cheaper and with no down payment. The guy goes into the office and comes back saying that they were able to lower the payments down to $347.00 a month with no down payment (I was wondering how that is possible to have a lower payment with no down payment.)
So I was okay with the payments and we setteled. I got the car, signed all the paperwork, gave them my old car and the keys, and drove home about 1 hr later from when I walked in with a new car.
Then about a week and half to 2 weeks later, May 5th, I get a call (a very rude call) saying that I need to call Bob back about my car. I thought that maybe there was a defect or something so I gave the call back. No answer! I left the message on Bob's voicemail and thought that I would get a call back a few hours later, nothing. The next day I get a call from Bob and he proceeds to tell me that I wasn't qualifed for the car and that I would need to get a co-signer or I would have to take my trade in back. He went on to tell me that I would need to find one by Monday. He called me back on a Saturday, while I was at a resturant eating lunch.
Bob then asks me if that is possible for me to get a co-signer, I go on telling him I was eating at the moment and would like to know if we could talk about this another time. He then stated that he needed to get everything taken care of by Monday. I then asked him that if I wasn't qualified shouldn't the guy that sold me the car been able to tell this and I shouldn't have been allowed off the lot if they didn't have a definite YES answer. He then didn't answer my question and said that I just need to get a co-signer by Monday.
So after I was done with lunch I didn't feel that it was right of them to give me the car and let me drive off the lot with a new car if I didn't qualify. I looked at the contracts that I signed along with the other guy that was explaining the contracts to me. And there I found it clear as day that they had to report to me IN WRITTING BY SEVEN DAYS IF THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND SUFFICIENT FINANCING.
Well I did not receive anything in the mail stating that I didn't qualify. During that week I did get another 2 or 3 VERY VERY RUDE CALLS FROM BOB. Saying that he hadn't heard from me and that if I didn't call him back then he would need to take the car. I talked to them on Saturday May 12, due to me working some graveyard shifts. I then said that they aren't even following the guidelines quoted in there OWN contract and that I think a lawyer is needing to be involved with this and I will also contact the attorney general as well. He then said okay you do that, end of conversation.
Then on Tuesday May 15, from between 7am and 1 pm they had taken my car from my driveway. I was asleep during that time cause I had pulled an all nighter from 8pm till 7am. Now to make things worse I still had to go to work at 8pm again and get my daughter to the sitter. I am a single mother so that makes it that much harder. I have to work full-time (as well as any extra hours I can) and I go to school full-time. I have since been trying to get rides from my family and have not once been contacted by them saying that they have taken my car.
I will of course be giving them a call to see what the heck they are doing. I will never go back there. I will let everyone I know that they will sell you a car and then just take it back 2 weeks later. This is bull! Sure if I don't qualify don't sell me the dang car THAT SIMPLE!
