In the pass month or two, I have gotten into a car accident on Ridge Road in Elmont. The Nassau County Police suggested that I take my car to Avalon Auto Repair. Harry, the owner of Avalon Auto Repair at 401 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, recieved my car. At the time, he refuse to provide an itemized estimate of the repair of my car. He only verbally gave me a number. I demanded for an itemized list of what I would have to pay but he refuse to give it to me. This arguement amounted to days of asking a itemized list. After a few days of trying to get in contact with him, (because he would claim he is too busy to talk, or no one would pick up the phone) I finally spoke to him and he tells me that there is a storage fee. The storage fee came out to $480.00. He told me it was Feb. 12 to Feb 14 it is $10 per day, then Feb. 15 to Feb. 26 it is $15 per day. If you total them only it comes out to $280.00. He also said that he is charging me $35.00 for the POLICE! Also another $35.00 for picking up the "debris" on the floor. (There was no debris, it was ony a little accident in front of Elmont Memorial High School) Harry explained to me that he will waive all charges if he will fix the car in his shop. Harry still did not want to give a written estimate after he told me that $1,350.00 is the charge.By Law, Harry should provide a written estimate. I also encouraged an investigation of the worker employee if they are legal citizen and if he is licensed. Harry is also irritable, arrogant, disrespectful, impatient, impolite, and intolerable with the way he treats his customers. At one event, in his office, Harry raised his voice at me and demanded that I sit down. Harry had no right to yell and disrespect me when I was only three feet away from him. I'm also complaining of moral defamation. Harry has a very bad attitude. Thank you.
