Well, I wish to add my two cents in reporting my experience with pep boys. Just in case you are wondering, I am a former employee of pepboys and left after the regional mgr decided not to introduce himself to me and I was in full view of him while I was on the cash register helping the store part and normally I am in the service bays being advisor however, My experience happened in the Marlowe Heights store in Maryland and I had service done on my car several times and spent good money.
Well, I had the starter replaced and the battery replaced which it needed and I told them that. I brought the car in on Sunday morning around 10 am and I knew from previous experience that they are short handed and I told them I will pick it up which was the next day in the evening.
I picked up my car and it started fine and while driving down the street I noticed my turn signals did not work and I proceeded to turn around and go right on back and tell to fix my signals and the silly little twit on the front desk said can you leave it? It has only been 48 hours or around that and I said no. I will put a stop payment on the check and then lets see how fast you will fix it then.
In all fairness, a nice young man came and fixed the problem. Apparently they were playing with the fuses and did not put one of them back in all the way. Well that was fixed and lets fast forward a few days today. My car would not start nor the lights and I came to find out that the battery cables were not tighten down which caused me to write this post. If you are reading this Pep boys I emailed you and gave you a chance to remedy this by email and you suggested to call. Sorry, I wanted everything on paper and I did save all the emails thank you.
I need to advise the general public is when you go to pepboys for service or any place like them ask to see the certificate showing they are qualifed if they are not, go somewhere else. And one more thing, pepboys has a buddy system where by the mechanic fixes the problem and someone who is on the same level checks the problem. I know for a fact the person who checked my situation was not even a mechanic because there was only one mechanic on that time of night and my car was fixed at 7:30 pm.
I will posting more information which may help anyone with pep boys. I will taking my money and spend to have a good quality work done on my car and avoid places like that.
