Ordered a new CV axle (CVUN2372) from Autopartswharehouse.com on EBAY
Feb 20,07'. The I did my homework ahead of time to make sure their part number was correct for my vehicle application - 98'F150 4wd. Their "auto parts expert" sounded like he was outsourced from India, and had some difficulty taking the order. The part arrived Feb 28 UPS and I picked it up.
Upon installing the Cv axle I noticed the axle would lock-up while rotating with the suspension unloaded on the rack. The axle will work for everyday street driving, but if taken anywhere where it might be bumpy and 4wd is used - it will certainly lock-up and break the axle or front differential.
It is simply machined wrong!
On Mar 4 I twice emailed Autopartswharehouse and did not receive an answer. I phone them on Feb 5 and was politely told by their sales rep that the 21 days return was policy.
That is - 21 DAYS FROM THE ORDER DATE!
I asked the sales rep for a manager to extend the return to 30 days from installation to allow me to replace the part and schedule a mechanic to re-install the axle. He said NO!
Do the math - it takes 8 - 10 days shipping each way, which leaves 1 - 5 days to receive the part, have a mechanic install it, replace it, have a mechanic re-install it, then return it!
This return is impossible, and Autopartswharehouse knows it!
I have decided to disbute the purchase through my credit card company, and they have indicated that they will likely reverse the charges and not pay them.
I should charge Autopartswharehouse for my extra mechanic expense, time and aggrivation!
Do not buy from this company - they simply don't care about their customers!
