I took my truck into Les Schwab in Pt Angeles, where they said I should have my brakes looked into, and that I had a leak in the rear. Took truck to Les Schwab in Sequim, they said my rear axle needed repair, and they proceeded to do my brakes and put a pin or whatever into the rear axle. They charged me $449.00.
Not more than a couple of months later, I had more fluid leaking in the rear, and they had to go back and replace my rear pin again, instead of telling me the rear axle (s) might need replacing, they did this again, without charge, thankfully. But just a few months later, fluid came gushing out, and I found out my rear axle housing was ruined, and I ended up having to replace the total rear end.
I had not towed anything with it, as they wanted to say I did. I had just installed a 5th wheel hitch, can check with Quality 4X4 as that's where I bought the part. But they tell me rear axle bearings had been put in before, so they put in replacement bearings again, which is ridiculous, I bought the truck with only 28,000 miles on it, why why would it need rear axle worK? Anyway, I will end up paying over $1200, which could have been prevented if they had told me earlier, that I needed a rear axle replaced! They would only pay $300 towards this, they should pay it all!!
