Oldsmobile Strikes Again!

I have a 2000 Alero that apparently suffers from brake design flaws. I had the dealer look into the brake noise that I believed was covered by warranty, only to learn that was a lie. I was told the rotors needed to be replaced due to "environmental" issues. Clever wording if you ask me. The auto has less than 26,000 miles and still maintains a 3 year, 30K mile unlimited warranty which basically is bogus. The end result $480 and six phone calls later I have a car with new brake pads, rotors etc.

The dealer told me the rotors were not defective, they could not be resurfaced and they of course were not under warranty. I ask you; if the parts were not defective wouldn't you think they would have lasted through the warranty period. Secondly, wouldn't you expect the car to have substantial mileage to help counter the environmental rotor excuse?

Oldsmobile should be ashamed of itself. Placing defective products on a car and allowing the consumer to bear the cost of repairs with a so-called bumper-to-bumper warranty. If only we all could run a business this way!

I say lets get GM back in the pocket for this blunder!
