Ripoff fraudulent sales of a van they worked on sold junk to me

This Company is Fraudulent in how they do Business. They took in a 1995 ford E-150 van from a lady that needed Transmission work back in July. They convinced her she needed a lot of repairs. They told her of transmission problems, oil pan leaking, gas tank leaking, radiator needs repair, brake line needs repair, gas tank fill tube rotted out, oil pan rotted out needs replaced and etc. They charged her over $2600.00 and didnt repair the gas tank or oil pan or knock in the engine. They said they rebuilt the transmission and put a brake line in etc...

After she paid $660.00 down and had problems with their work, She would not pay them and they took the van. They had this van for 4 months and even drove it for personal use (witness saw them using it) they put 70 miles on the van (title from time they got it from her until selling it to me shows this). Then in Nov. 2006 I needed a van and seen this one with other vehicles for sale sitting on the parking lot of their business
I spoke to Ed Andrews the manager and he showed me the vehicle

The abs light was on and he said not to worry it comes on and off due to a new brake line. He told me what a great van it is, and all the new work they had done. I thought hey, this is a transmission and auto repair shop, I relied on their expert mechanical opinion and purchased the van with $3000.00 I borrowed from a friend of mine They Sold me the van for $3000.00

Then the nightmare began two days later I notice leaks under the van, took it to a shop the oil pan was rotted out needs replaced, they tried to patch it to hold me over until i could get it fixed, they found a screw and washer where some one tried to slow it down to sell it (h-mmm) who could have done that?

Then the transmission (that was suppose to have been rebuilt) starts leaking. I stop to get gas and as I put it in, it's pouring out on the ground. I think Oh God Help me, Look at the piece of Junk I just bought.

I need this to go to work out of town daily, I try to drive it then the knocking noise in the motor starts, and while driving down the road the dash falls off onto the floor. "What in the world" now I am super upset.

I take this junk back to Ed Andrews and he says I see the trnas leak but I didnt know anything about all this other stuff (yeah right, you owned it 4 months, drove it over 70 miles, had it on your rack for repeated work but you dont know anything about the van)

He tells me he will try to find the leaking trans problem but the rest of the stuff is my problem. He says " thats what you get when you buy a used vehicle" I get estimates from Michael tire mechanic shop down the road they tell me for about $1900.00 they can fix some of the problems, new gas tank fill tubes, new oil pan (lot of labor to replace) etc...

While Im there a young couple comes in and they too can't afford all the work "Earl Brothers" had talked them into doing so here is another couple giving up their car to them.

This place is looking like a used car lot. I am wondering about all these cars that customers are giving them. They charge storage fees, high cost repair bills etc... Then they get to take the autos from low income wage earners that cant come up with the repair cost prices. And re sell the car for much more than they have in it. What a scam.

I have taken them to small claims court, I gave the Judge pictures of puddles of oil and trans fluids and gas puddles under this vehicle, the dash boad in the floor etc...

I just want to warn anyone in the Toledo Ohio area. The owner James Earl owns all the shops approx 5 in our area, and he and his Northwood Ohio Manager under oath Lied to a small claims Court Judge. I have informed the Judge of the blatant lies

One lie Being The asking price of the vehicle They wanted $3300 they said they were asking $4000.00 an was doing me a favor at $3000.00 (yeah right) they even said and used the words (we need our money back and was trying to quote " get out from under the van" unquote.

They said they had only been under the van a couple of times for a trans rebuild and brake cable. Ha, I gave the Judge a copy of the multiple task these geniuses even had listed on the very receipt they gave the previous owner whom I contacted

She even gave me a letter to let the Court know all the things they told her was wrong 4 months before I purchased it. You know, The things they said " we didnt know about this stuff being wrong"

Beware of Earl Brothers Transmission shops. They even have complaints with the Toledo Ohio Better Business Bureau. I wonder how many others that haven't reported them have been ripped off also Real smooth operating scam artist. Beware
