Ripoff Deceitful Misrepresented Sales Practices Buyer Be Very Aware Don't Become Their Next Victim!

Clay Cooley Motor Co's specializes in ripping off decent hard-working people that have less that perfect credit and are looking for transportation. They have no conscious and could care less about taking your money and selling you a junk vehicle.

We went there about 6 months ago looking for a small SUV for our family of 5. At the time they didn't have any SUVs to choose from so our fast-talking salesrep John convinced us to settle for a different vehicle; a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. We test drove it and it seemed to drive ok except for a high pitched noise coming from the engine. John said the engine was a turbo and that's what the noise was. Sounded good to us.

John, (with the approval of his manager) told us if we took the car and paid on it for 6 months without missing any payments we could then bring the car back in and upgrade to the SUV we originally wanted with no problems. We gave them $1000 down payment and took delivery on the car that night.

We continued making our payments for 6 months without missing a beat.in fact, 1 week before we decided to take the car back for the upgrade we received a call from another Clay Cooley Kroonie in Accounting saying that since we had excellent payment history with them a bank wanted to refinance the vehicle for us at a lower interest rate. We told her we were coming back in to upgrade to a SUV.

By the 6th month the engine noise had gotten increasingly louder. We went back in and told them that we wanted to do the upgrade now. We were told they needed an additional 3 months of payments before we could get the upgrade so would have to keep the car for another 3 months.

We were furious. This is not what we were led to believe after giving our $1000 down payment to them in good faith. We soon found out that we were intentionally lied to just to get our money. John was well trained in the deceptive art of "Automotive Sells".

We told them about the noise from the engine. Their mechanic took a look at the car while we were there. We were then told by the sales rep that the transmission was going out and it would take $1000 to repair it. They offered to fix it and add the $1000 back to the balance of our loan. We left there furious and decided to do everything we can to warm other potential victims about Clay Cooley's deceptive sell practices and raggedy vehicles. Mr. Cooley you should be very proud of your swindling sales team.

Buyer beware. Don't be their next victim!
