I purchased a 2000 Toyota Corolla in 2004 from CarMax. Three days after the purchase I went back with the car because the clutch and brakes were making noise. They asked me to come back a few days later, but I was traveling. Every time I called they were booked. I was told to take it to any Toyota dealership and get it repaired through their warranty.
"CarMax warranty does not pay" said the dealer.
I went back to CarMax and raised hell. At this point, I have changed the battery three times, the seat belts sensor was acting up, the rear left light bulb burning up every other week.
Ten months passed before I could get the car in. And after keeping the car for three days, they told me they could not replace the clutch because I had the car too long. They would not replace the brakes for same reason. The battery was cheap and they didn't know how to fix the lights or sensor.
I am a woman, and I know they treated wrong. I canceled the warranty. When I told them that the car was paid off they kept half of the warranty refund, and sent the rest to the bank I financed the car through.
