I had a vehicle recently financed by Wells Fargo Auto. They go into debt collector mode immediately when a payment is late. (one day) I had repeated daily calls from them until the payment was made.
As you other folks have mentioned, this is ridiculous. Apparently a contract with a 10 day late fee doesn't mean grace period for payment, just avoidance of a late fee.
Do as I will and write a complaint to the FTC on this issue. There is no need to be harrased by debt collectors on a 1 day late payment.
Yes, Wells Fargo when you repeatedly call me wanting payment on my loan only 1 day past due you are then acting as a debt collector and subject to FDCPA rules and regulations.
