Tonight, our car was repossed. Our payments are due on the 22nd of each month. We made a payment on 10/17/06. Today, they said we were behind on payment.
The repo men followed us tonight before coming home. We recognized them from a few parking lots and stores were were in. We just unloaded our groceries and brought the dogs in, then they knocked on the door. When we explained and offered prrof of payment, he said he had to go by what was on the computer. We called the sheriff, which the repo men lied and said they were with Pawn America. I said that was not true, we had a loan with Triad Financial / roadloans. The repo men told the sheriff we were lying to the sheriff. I explained that we had no demand for payment, no letter of intent or anything. The sheriff suggested we call Triad and sort things out. The sheriff could not come at that time, the repo men would not wait, so they loaded our car and left.
When we called Triad after the repo men left, they kept hanging up on us. They would ask the account number, ask what we wanted and then hang up. This happened over and over despite a few requests to speak with management. The one time a call did go through to so called "management" the person who started the call was still on the line and repeating everything I said, then there was 3 or 4 people in the background laughing.
I, also heard another person, on the phone demanding payment from another customer. They threatened the customer and said they would be at their job tomorrow taking their vehicle.
We don't want the car back at this point. It had a lot of front end things going in from the start. We put more money in it, then we paid payments. We just could not get out of Triads web of lies and paper work. We will fight any collection efforts in court.
I would like further information and to join the Class Action Lawsuit people here are talking about.
