Horrible business practices and poor communicationsof the staff and I had to pay for their mistakeand will sue

My new in laws were in town from Maine and helped us buy a car by co-signing for us. We both have some credit problems and them doing this for us, it allowed us to get a car. Our old 93 Geo had fallen apart. We were stuck with few options and little cash on hand. This car was not going to make it another day.

I first looked onnline and got the contact info and asked if they would accept a co-signer from out of state. They said no problem. I told him I did not want to waste my time coming down, AFTER he said yes, and that we'd be right over. Remember, my inlaws WERE INTOWN visiting us.

The deal was done, we all sat there in person and signed everything. All info was given, copies of everyone's ID's, etc. We drove off in our 2006 car happy as clams and thanking God.

4 weeks later, before our first pmt was due, a man shows up on a Thursday night at 10:30 and says he is here to repo the car; that Showcase said my father in law did not provide all the information... Hiws words were that he ws NOT cooperating. This was a LIE. I sat right there and watched him give them everything. We were beside ourselves with shock. I told the man I had the papers here and began to look. I then mentioned that they might be inthe glovebox and took my whole key ring out of my purse and set in on the table. I turned my back to rummage throught the pares on the counter and turned back and he was gone. So was my keychain. He had stolen my keys and I was horrified that this man had stolen my car and was not who he said he was. We called the police.

My husband began to throw up. He is 100% disabled and cannot deal with stress well. It could easily kill him with his artificial heart valve, among other things. I got sick later that eve myself. I had to call off to work the nest day and we desperatly could not afford for me to so that. The police said it was reported just then as a repo.

After a night of no sleep and a million middle of the night phone calls to my father in-law, we awoke and called Showcase Chevy. No one would admit to knowing what we were talking about. They got into screaming matches with us and said they would look into it. We spent all day and the next fighting with these people on the phone... Them saying this was a terrible way to business and they would get to the person who ordered this pick up.

By that night, I finally had them talked into paying for a cabride for me to and from work. That was like pulling teeth but one guy evebtually agreed. At this point, I told them forget it and I wanted my old car back. They said I "COULD NOT HAVE IT". So I told them, I had a car with a clear title, gave you 500. Cash down on top of that, and I have nothing to drive. They didn't care.

The mext day after work, I stopped at the dealership and a NEW guy I had not yet talked to, told me that "No one told me a thing about this until today. I had it corrected in ten minutes." He gave me the money for the cab ride and had someone bring the new car back to me.

My husband had mentioned to several employees there that I missed a day of work, dang near put him back in the hopsital and that 250.00 in cash was in there, as well as my watch, AND i missed a day's pay at work, AND shorted my co-workers, because of them. And now... No one seems to know where this order to repo came from within the company. What a CROCK. How UNPROFESSIONAL.

After I got the car back, I contacted an attorney. My husband also contacted his VA cardiology dept and told them of the matter. He had been scheduled for ANOTHER heart surgery that we had to pospone since I did not know if I would have a car to transport him to and from in! My husband's VA attorney agreed to take the case. He put my husband's health and life in jeopardy, just from the stress alone.

We had to borrow the unrecovered money from my father to pay our utilities before they were shut off.

As I walked out the door after just been given back my car, I asked the man who ordered this mess. I want to know his name. He said call me Monday and he would find out. I asked him to call my cell and just leave the name on a message as I cannot take calls in my nurse job because I am assisting the doctors all day. Of course, the call never came.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people. They were rude, unorganized, unprofessional, and slanderous comments mae on a personal level. When myhusband at one point tried to explain that he is disabled and we have to have a car here (to a man named Jim Turner of the dealership) Jim told him, "I am disabled too. Whay not come dwn here and kick my ass". THIS GUY CALLED OUT a veteran for a fight!!!

As it stands now, we still have the car, made the payment on time, and it only took THREE temp tags to finally get my plates from them. They are disgraceful and we are still ACTIVELY building our case. I will get my money back, but not without taking them to court, and we have already got it in motion. If we are successful, which the attorney says we will be... On MANY counts, I wonder how many weeks I will have to wait to be reimbursed for our losses? We are also suing the man who came and got my car... He STOLE the keys... All of them. WE filed a police report on that man too.
