I was in a car accident with my van, I was taken to the hospital by ambulance and the police had my van towed, it was still drivable. I sustained injuries including a lacerated ankle and a sprained ankle, a concusion, and whip-lash. I called the body shop that had my van and talked to a man who said that they would bill my auto insurance for the ammount, which was very overcharged by the way, $88 to tow it 1 mile, plus $20 a day to store it in their lot. When I took a bus from the hospial to pick up my van, I got there and they refused to release it stating they never told me they would bill insurance, they said they only take cash. I called my insurance company to see if they could help, the insurance got on the phone with them and said they would send a payment immediately and to release my van, and the body shop refused to accept payment from my insurance. I was stuck there on crutches too far from home to walk and am new to the town and didn't know anyone to call to come get me. While I was there waiting they called me names, made fun of me on my crutches laughing at my situation saying I was a stupid (w) itch, they used a different word. I eventually called the police and told them the situation and that I felt unsafe and harassed and the police came and picked me up and brought me home. I would tell anyone even thinking of doing business with them or if you are in an accident, do not have your vehichle towed and taken to their shop, you will be harassed and humiliated like I was.
