On May the 27th my husband and i took our car into Midas for a simple oil change. After leaving the shop the oil light came on.

We turned the car around in order to head back to the shop.

On the way back to Midas the car just shut down on us and we were stranded. Thank God for cell phones because we were slightly away for the public. My husband opened the hood and checked the oil dipstick. It was dry!!! Anyway I called the number on the receipt and asked for the manager (frantickly).

He agreed to come out and check out the problem. He looked under the hood and then under the car. He made the realization that the person that changed the oil did not replace the filter correctly. He offered us a ride and said he would have to get the car back to the shop, he also agreed to fix or pay for any damages associated with the matter. He drove the car back to the shop and called us 30 minutes latter saying that the matter was resolved. However just a few days later the oil light came back on. My husband took the car back to Midas and the claim to have reset the light. Fast forward on Saturday the 24th of June the oil light comes back on.instead of taking the car back to Midas we decide to take someplace else. We thought that maybe it just needed another oil change then everything would be okay. Before the technician preceeds with the oil change he comes out and tells me that there is a problem. He said the the bearing were ruined and oil was not being sufficiently pumped to the engine.

So we would need new bearing, a new engine and other services. I was in shock. I reluctantly asked the price of all of that and he said 14,000 dollars. We donn't have 14,000 dollars!!! I said.

I explained the Midas situation to him and he said that, that is what caused it because once the car's oil light came on the first time the damages was already being done. So i called Midas asked to speak to that same manager C.F. He told me to have the technician write up an estimate and fax it to him and he would take care of it. This was before he new the price. Anyway once he saw the price he refused to let the car be repaired there. We disagreed at first and wanted the car to be repair where it already was. On week later Midas the owner George Murray still hadn't responded to our situation after many attempts to contact him. He said he would only do something for us if the car was back in his shop. So on Saturday July 1st we took it back to Midas. None of this was easy i had to have repeated shouti matches with this man before he attempted to do anything.

So now here I am today frustrated, angry, hurt and very disappointed in many things involving consumer rights. I have shed countless tears over this situation. I've only had my car for alittle less than a year, still making fresh payments. It is a 2002 Toyota Camry and I still don't have it Midas does. Today's date you ask? July 15th. I have made many calls to Midas and Midas has made none to me.

Right now I must use my faith in order to keep my religion in tack. I am constantly praying and reading the word. Because I need strength!!! Yes I am Mad AS H-ll
