Greg Casamento, Carriages Unlimited Dba Worldwide RV Sales Rip-off, organized ebay fraud & scam. Sold us a LEMON RV, lied about RV condition

On April 15, we won an ebay listing & proceeded to buy a motorhome from Greg Casamento, with Carriages Unlimited, dba Worldwide RV Sales, Inc., in Florida. This was an Ebay scam, and intentional Fraud on behalf of Worldwide RV Sales and its representative/and or sales persons. We did not believe that we would be scammed by a licensed reputable RV dealer. Boy were we proven wrong! Unfortunately for us, we bought this RV sight unseen, trusting the honestly & integrity of the sales person, Mr. Casamento. Mr. Casamento advised us that the motorhome was a trade in to his company & had undergone an extensive inspection and that this RV was in excellent condition inside & out, and informed us that this coach could be driven anywhere accoss the country with no problem. We asked about were the vehichle originated & the likelyhood of rust (since no mention was made in the ebay ad), he informed us that this RV had absolutley NO RUST!

Appearing to act with kindness, Mr. Casamento helped us to make arrangements to have the motorhome driven out to Tucson. Before the RV made it to Tucson, the tires had to be rotated because of the poor tires on the front, and the transmission siezed. We had to have the motorhome towed into Tucson and had to have a complete new transmission installed, (at the tune of $4800). At this time, the reputable repair facilty advied us that this RV was so badly rusted underneath and underneath the hidden areas of the fiberglass, & that this coach appeared to be in nead of many costly repairs, and was unsafe to be traveling in. We were flat-out lied to by Mr. Casamento, about the true condition of the RV as well lying about many other items inside the coach that we found not to be functioning. The automatic levelors were non-functional, the propane tank was rusted out so bad that it was leaking propane badly, the water pump and or electrical to the water pump were non-functional, the kitchen faucet was cracked & leaking, the inverter was non-functional, the lamination was beginning to lift & the moulding was loose & falling off coach, their was an obvious re-paint/patched area that was noted, and the tires were absolutely unsafe to drive, being over 10 years old! (2 of the tires were were balding on the inner tread, showing obvious signs of an allignment problem). I attempted to contact Mr. Casamento regarding the transmission and the mechanics concerns once the motorhome arrived and Mr. Casamento quickly & abruptly ended the telephone conversation with me, saying "I've gotta go, I'll call you back". Well, he never called back, and he never answered any of my calls either.

We were advised that we did not qualify for the Ebay vehicle protection because we did not utilize ebay to make payments. Mr. Casamento insisted that we make the payments via a wire transfer service direclty to the companies bank account, insiting that we finalize the purchase outside of Ebay. Once we made the deposit, we thought we maybe we should get another opinion from an independant dealer or mechanic, but Mr. Casamento advised us that they did not have the time or people to take it anywhere else to be inspected. Again, he insisted that this coach was in excellent condition, and that if we were geting cold feet & wanted out, that we would not be entitled to a refund of our deposit. We ended up purchacing the RV from Mr. Casamento for $16,000, and we had the expense of $1800 to have the motorhome driven to Tucson ($900 for driver & $900 for gas & misc. Expenses that driver had to pay out of pocket to get vehichle to destination). Since then, we have also had to have many repairs done to make it safe & operatinal, exceeding $8800 to date. (New transmission, 2 new tires, new propane tank & fittings, new water pump & electrical repairs to make it work, complete overhaul on generator, unsuccessful attempts to make levelors functional, and many more semi-minor items). The motorhome is still in need of many more repairs, but we've been completely drainned of all our financial resources, and cannot get these repairs done.

THIS RV IS A LEMON! Initially, it did not look bad from the outside, but once you start to really look it over, it is bad news. This organization & it's representatives are scam artisits, they are liers, thiefs and knowingly commit fraud. We were not aware of the Florida lemon laws concerning older vehicles, and this is where Mr. Casamento took full advantage of us, because he knew that the age of the vehicle was exempt from Florida lemon laws, however, this should not excuse the blatent deception and lies about the condition of the vehichle. Mr. Casamento & his company preyed on innocent comsumers, knowing fully that he passing off a problem RV to any fool who wouldn't have the knowlede that he did about it's condition. He blatently lied about the condition of this motorhome, and now we are stuck with something that has already cost us over $26,000, and yet we can't even use it, because its unsafe. I have been informed that under Federal laws we are entitled to three times our loss. Mr. Casamento needs to lose his dealership, be fined and be sent to prison as far as we are concerned! Had we known of this companies "BAD BUSINESS" practices, we would never have done business with them. I hope that no other consumers have to experience what we did. We just want our money back, including out of pocket expenses we have paid to date. We will consider not filling this with legal council if Worldwide RV Inc. Returns our lost financial expenses in a timely manner.
