My wife, who is pregnant, was on her way to her University for her afternoon classes when she decided to stop and get something to eat.
After doing so she tried to start her 00'Grand Prix and nothing happened she immediately called me and said somethings wrong with the car, I instantly thought the battery is dead.
Well, it would of been easy for me to jump start the car but the University is 60 miles away.
Needless to say a tow truck was called and the car was jumped and the expence came from our pocket.
And of course when you are in a hurry people seem to move slower. Anyway, my wife called and said the car was started.
Her last class ends at 840pm and she said she would feel better if she just came home.
So she did not attend any of those classes because she didnt feel like being stranded again at 900pm at night.
That next morning I went out to look at the vehicle. I tried to start it but there was no life.
I opened the hood and looked at the battery (AC Delco) and noticed battery acid was everywhere.
There were deposits on all electrical wires around the positive side of the battery, the battery box was covered and fluid was still leaking from the positive cable.
Seeing this I removed the cable with my gloved hand, no wrenched were involved the positive terminal just came right off.
Never the less I am out of 75$ and I was told AC Delco would not do a thing.
They know there is a problem and GM knows the same.
But we as consumers do not, this is why I am going to do everything possible to let the consumers know.
