Americredit does not follow the federal mandated law incorporated by the united states congress for current recalled or active duty personnel in the united states armed forces. There delay to timing on any ssteps to follow the sailors and soilders relief act in long and drawn our if it is even followed thru on.By law the Americredit Auto Company seizes to follow thru with customers regarding their accounts to allow military service members to act on their accounts for their soiders and sailors relief act as incorporated by the congress of the united states of America and the President in the newly amendented attached soliders and sailors relief act put into full force in 2002.
Americredit delays or will not even acknowledge the proper paper work for military members to get their loans reduced by law to the 6% rate. Americredit breaks the law for many military families and puts a hardship on the spouses demanding the full payments while the service member is overseas. Americredit constantly harasses the spouse or family members till they get the information that theya re obtaining is obviously illegal. AMericredit will call other family members regarding their know about and where the spouses are working and where to locate the vechicle to do illegal repossions while at the other side of the world the service member has no idea what is going on.
My personal experience is that they did finally reduce a loan that i had with them but after 6 months of paperwork that they requested and said they never recieved my service member had already gone over seas come home and gone again. So when i moved out of the area i informed Americredit that untill the paperwork for the soilder and sailor relief act was put to my account that they would not know where the vechicle was being housed or my current address all Americredit was going to get was a active phone number.
I need my car it wasnt my fault that the us government recalled my family to active duty andit changed my income level that i was accustomed to living with. So my suggestion to others is to relocate the vechicle and do not give them ur private information till Americredit incorporates ur loan to the 6% rate that theya re suppsoe to by law follow.By me informing Americredit that the vechicle was being in a disclosed location did they then start to work with me on my payment reduction and my rate reduction. My payments after all is said and done took 8 months for them to do this and to this day they still dont have the right location for the car. And that is by my choice not theirs im making the required payments and untill my service member comes home they will not know the location of his car.
Asa military spouse the loan with them as been a night mare and i had to change my phone and my address and now they no longer bother me i call them when i need something. Americredit is rude and ruthless when it comes to our serivce men and women who are fighting for freedom in another country and we the spouses have to fight another battle on the home front it is stupid. We spouses have enough to worry about when a simple company who cannot follow the guidelines that the government sets for every company and i will say this untill Americreidt is brought or sold to another company this will continue cause this is america and we are the victims of such corporate greedy shareholders and ceo's who are taking adavantage of the proud and unscarifing men and women who are dying overseas to fill their pockets with money.
My personal opinion i didnt ask my husband to go to war but it is a fact of marrying somone in the miliary and more and more companys are going to have to face the fact that this is war and the federal and the president have set rules for them and they are going to have to abide by them even if it takes 1000 places like this for our stories to be heard and published.
