My husband and I decided to buy a car from Drive time, We are new to credit (no bad credit, just not enough score I guess) We went there and got an 03 Dodge Neon, about 1 week later the brakes were making a weird noise, got that fixed, we didnt have to pay anything. Well, my husband is in the military he went in May 05 and we are still building credit as I said before. We just PCSed to Oklahoma about 2 months ago, we drove the car, It made it fine thank goodness, Well within 2 weeks of being here, the car started hesitating on us... I took it somewhere and they told me it was the transmission so I inmediately called drive time, since we still had warranty, well the guy i talked to told me that they could do anything since we are out of state, FIRST OF ALL ITS NOT OUR FAULT, THEY SENT US HERE.
Dont they have nationwide insurance? Yeah thats what I thought, the thing is that the guy gave me a number to take to AAMCO here in OKC so I did... But it wasnt the transmission it was the engine, and the spark plugs, everything was going to be $500 so i called this guy back and told him, GUESS WHAT HE SAID??? Oh thats not covered by the warranty! what??? The engine isnt covered? Uh huh! He told me he was going to talk to THE manager and see what he can do for us, and that he was going to call us back, well we never got the call back, and everytime I call they wont call back. I leave messages but never hear back from them. We got the car fixed... And now we are in process of getting another car, we are trading this one in, the car is fine now. But the payments are killing us, we have to pay $198.44 biweekly thats $400 and since we dont live in Fl we pay over the phone and they charge us $5 extra for it. So yeah... We are definetely doing something about it. The only bad thing now is that we need a co-signer. And we dont know anyone here in Oklahoma.
So to Who-ever is thinking about going to Drivetime... Dont go there! They suck!!
