Zed Audio Sales Defective items. Buyers Beware of Steve Mantz and Company Ripoff

I was selling a Harmon Kardon Citation amp on eBay and got an email from Steve Mantz. He said his company made the amp for Harmon Kardon years ago and talked about its specs. Not sure why he emailed other than to maybe get me to visit his new website. I checked it out. Zedaudio.com. After looking at the car stereo amps he has advertised I decided to buy 3 of them. I bought 2 Miniliths both rated at 1 ohm mono and a Draconia which is 4 channels. I know a good bit about installing these types of units so I did it all myself. Within a short time I had problems. One Minilith didnt work at all. The other got so hot it burned the fuses and fuse holders as well as carpet and wiring. The Draconia had popping in one channel. I emailed Zed and Steve Mantz replied. I sent the amps back and he fixed them. When I got them back they were dented and scratched. He said he didnt do it and blamed it on me. He was pretty dam rude about the whole thing. Before I connected these amps back in my car I did some research and found out I wasnt the only person that had problems with these same amps. Just a couple days after I got them back I got a letter from Steve saying the Miniliths had a defect and were getting super hot when used in 1 ohm. The letter suggested noone uses the amp in 1 ohm. So now the advertising about this amps capabilities is false and the wattage is almost halfed. I also read in websited that the Draconia had popping problems with other peoples stereo setup and it wasnt just mine. To make a really long story short I asked Steve for a full refund of all the amps even after the 30 day return policy. He said no at first cause it was out of the 30 days. Then I got him to say yes cause I didnt feel safe having these defective amps in my car even though he supposedly fixed them. Even though I told him about the scratches and dents on the amps that i didnt do he took them back. He email response to my asking for a refund was simply to send them all back. Nothing else. So I sent them back thinking I was going to get a full refund like I asked. Next thing I know, he charged me almost $300 for bullshit parts like fuses and boxes and fuse holders. He charged me for replacing the heat sinks cause they were scratched. He said he charged me this cause his policy states he can. If an item is returned broken or not in same way it was sent to me he can charge me to make like new again. So he charged me for items that were not retuned to him like new condition. Like the fuses that burnt from the defective amps. Scratches that happened when his team supposedly fix the defects. All kinds of bogus little charges that added up. I paid over $1000 for the amps and got back around $700 as a refund even though I sent everything back the way I got them. After a year I am still trying to dispute the rediculous charges with me CC company. Steve is a greedy asshole. Some people in certain audio forums agreed that what he did was wrong. Do you want to take a chance at getting a defective item that might burn up your car with kids in it? And do you want to get stuck with bogus charges if you decide you want a refund for these defective items? Then dont buy from zedaudio.com There are allot of other companies out there with great products. And Steve if you reading this I hope you burn in hell. Just like your amps burn. LOL Read this forum where he makes a total ass of himself proven my point. Dont deal with these people.
