Tennessee Towing & Recovery located in Powell, Tennessee. Riped me off with a fradulent bill that they submited to Budget Rental.
On March 1st. Budget called Tennessee Towing to have them tow a rental truck that I had rented in Tuepelo, Miss. I was within 1/2 of a mile of my destintation point of drop-off when I stoped to fuel the truck up, I accidently put 10 gallons of gas into the tank, before relizing that it took disel fuel instead, at that point I called Budget and told them what I had done, they informed me to sit tight and they would contact someone to tow the truck.
The next call I got was from Tennessee Towing (Johnny), at that time I told him where I was located and that the Budget drop of point was on ly 1/2 of a mile away, I then asked him how much was he going to charge to tow the truck, he said I don't know yet, I will have to talk back to Budget and find out where they want it droped off at.
I then called Budget and they said they told Johnny to drop the truck off at Reader Chevrolet in Knoxville, TN on Clinton Hwy. About 3 miles from my location at that time, which was fine, but no one could give me any amount on what the charges were going to be. On Friday March 3rd. I get a call from a Budget service center in Knoxville, Tn. Stating all of the charges that they have imputed upon me, the first being fixing the truck which I agree was my fault, and I have no problem with that $400.00 bill.
Then next is the tow bill which Tennessee Towing submited stating that they picked the truck up in the middle of the night, and was told to drop it off at the Budget center 1/2 mile away, and that Budget again called them on Tues. To move the truck to Reader Chev. Which is all false, they picked up the truck at 7:00 P.M. And was supposed to take it to Reader Chev. The first time, which is open till 9:00 P.M.
Tennessee Towing has just riped me off to charge such fees for only going less than 1 mile the first day, and around 3 miles the second time. Be aware of what these towing companies are doing to comsumers, and making the like it.
