Never never (can i stress it more) never rent from budget... There are so many horror stories and here is mine... Six years ago we rented a one-way truck from MA to FL... On the Jersey Turnpike the transmission dropped out of our truck... Because the turnpike only uses contracted towing companies Budget could not tow it and we had to pay out of pocket nearly $400 bucks (of course Budget promised to reimburse) because all of this happened on a Thursday and Budget could not replace truck until Friday afternoon we did not make it to Florida by Friday to move into our apartment and they were not open again to sign lease until Monday. We had to stay in hotels until Monday (4 days) all out of pocket..
When we returned truck (4 days late) they refused to reimburse ANYTHING once they got the truck back and charged us the 4 days overage. Oh and plus when we got the replacement truck in Jersey the monkeys could not fit all the stuff back into the truck so we had to go to UHAUL and get a hitch and trailer... Every thing caused by them cost us out of pocket like 2k... Upside is we travel a lot due to jobs and I have rented from at least 20-25 times truck, trailers and tow dolleys in the past six years and I have never never never had any major issue with them and sometimes have had overages waived... All I can say is go... Budget is the worst company I have ever had to deal with.
Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
