Car taken to Purrfect Auto 11/24 for coolant leak inspection. Pressure check done - Purrfect Auto/Mohammed said I needed upper & lower radiator hose replaced; cost $180.00; Drove car home; next day drove car to daughter's home for Thanksgiving, on drive back to my residence, my car suddenly stopped on me: Had car towed the remaining distance to my residence; Drove my other car to Purrfect Auto on 11/25 and talked to Purrfect Auto/Mohammed and he insisted I bring the car back to his shop to be looked at; I explained I didn't have money after just paying him for radiator hoses and the Thanksgiving holiday... He said that's ok, bring car to him and he could wait until I could make my Payday advance loan to pay him.
Towed car to Purrfect auto and on 11/26 Purrfect Auto/Mohammed called me stating that the Timing Belt had Broken: On 11/26 Timing belt, water pump, Cam & Crank Seal replaced; I paid $500.00; I was told my car may still need Valve Job in the amount of $750.00, plus $140.00 for the Valves; before I could actually go and pay the $500.00 on 11/30, I received a call from Mohammed stating that for an additional $200.00 Purrfect Auto could resolve the reason why car was "shaking" & "Check Engine" light was on after the Timing Belt had been installed: I could Not afford extra money and told Purrfect Auto/Mohammed that I would not authorize any further work resulting in extra expenses done to my car, that I would pick my car up and take it home;
Car stayed parked at my residence until 02/7; Took car to Roy's Auto repair close to my home; Discovered that my Timing Belt had been improperly installed, Timing was not set, old pieces of previous Timing belt still logged in the gears and the Coolant bottle had been removed, wherein Purrfect Auto just left a large bolt/screw logged in the hose coming from the radiator. I paid an additional $300.00 for this correction. Resolution Sought: Refund me money that I had to pay another auto shop closer to my home to correct Purrfect Auto's negligence; Pieces of the old Timing belt were still logged in the gears which would have resulted in further damage later on; My coolant bottle was also taken off my auto on 11/25 and I needed to purchase another one because a "hole" was in the one taken off by Purrfect Auto; The new cooant bottle cost $38.00.
I picked up my vehicle from Roy's Auto Repair and the following day 02/11/06 I drove my vehicle to Purrfect Auto and spoke to Mohammed about the situation regarding my car and asked him if he could refund me some of my money I had to pay to have "corrective work" done on my vehicle resulting from the negligence at his auto repair shop; Mohammed asked me to bring him a copy of his receipt and copy of receipt where I paid for the corrective work. On 2/13 I provided Purrfect Auto/Mohammed with copies of both receipts. Mohammed said he needed to send the information to his corporate office for a decision on what was going to be done in regards to any refund; On Friday, 2/17 I called Purrfect auto/Mohammed and asked if he had heard from his "corporate office" yet, and Mohammed asked me to give him a call Tuesday, that he should know something by then. On 2/21 I called Purrfect Auto/Mohammed and again inquired as to the decision for a refund.
Mohammed stated to me that the Corporate office told him that since I didn't give the Repair shop the chance to fix my Auto, that they didn't feel a refund was warranted. Mohammed went on to say that what he could do for me is "on his own" refund me $100.00 of the $300.00 I paid the other repair shop.
I'm disappointed for sure, but said that "some of the money being refunded is better than none". Mohammed then stated that he couldn't give me the entire $100.00, but half this day 02/21/06 and the remaining in the coming month. He said he would cut me a company check and for me to come pick it up. However, when I got off work and drove to Purrfect Auto and spoke with Mohammed he asked if I could come back the next day of 02/22/06 because he had "paid his last check" to a supplier. Mohammed had one of his mechanics there reprsenting himself as the "Repair Shop Attorney" involved in what was transpiring between Mohammed and I.
This person was in agreement with Mohammed that I should have given Purrfect Auto the opportunity to fix my car. Mohammed asked that when I return the following day to bring him HIS Original receipt for repairs... I'm personally, not giving in to this type of treatment. My car was not fixed correctly either by deliberate fault or Ignorant fault and I don't feel like I should come out of my pocket to Purrfect Auto to keep "trying to figure out" what's wrong with my car to the amount of nearly $2000.00 before Purrfect auto would revert back to the Timing Belt actually being the reason why my vehicle was in worse shape after I had it repaired than it's ever been since I have owned the vehicle. I want Purrfect Auto/Mohammed to refund me either ALL or SOME of my money.
