Bill Penney Toyota Mitsubishi
Ripoff is dishonest and very misleading

My wife and I purchased a 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante from Bill Penney in late December as a gift for her. Well, we were constantly annoyed by the sales people TY Starks and Marty Young until we came down to test drive the car. I drove it and finally tried to work out a deal. First they told me the original price was $11,991 but he'd let us have it for $10,991 but when I looked on the sale sheet on his desk it stated $10,991. It was never that expensive. Then they later said they would go down to $9,000. I told them I was looking at one cheaper than that, so he dropped it to $8,300. We agreed that if everything was nice we'd buy it. I drove the car. Every time I tried to turn on the radio, he would start talking and I had to turn it off. Well, we purchased the car with an extra warranty.

Marty Young claimed it already had a 7 yr./ 100,000 mile warranty on it and we had 19,000 miles left. Then BP gives a 30 day/1,000 mile warranty on top of that. Then we got a 2yr. 24,000 mile warranty extra.
I got in the car and made it about 5 minutes down the street and realized the speakers were blown. They were closed so I took it in on Monday for them to look at it.

They said that the speakers werent covered under warranty and we would have to pay $400 to replace the two door speakers. I talked to the General Manager and he agreed to replace them in good faith. After repairing them, I noticed the trim around the door handle was a different color. It looks like they broke it taking it off and tried to replace it with one from a different color interior.

Upon picking up the car, the check engine light was on. It said the oxygen sensor was bad. I told them to repair it under warranty, and was then told the car never had a 7yr. 100,000 mile warranty in the first place. So I said fix it under my warranty I purchased, and was then told it doesnt cover electronics and they considered an O2 sensor as electrical. They wanted $500 to replace it. They never would agree to fix it and I had to come out of pocket $150 to repair it at a mechanic. He started looking and the car is covered in rust under the bottom. Further searching revealed the car came from New York and that is where the rust came from.

Bill Penney Toyota is dishonest in their dealings and I would advise people if you buy from them to please read all the fine print first. I will never buy another vehicle from them. They are very misleading and dishonest in the way they represent vehicles and the salesmen seem very greedy and pushy.
