My sister bought a car from Drive Time about three years ago. She lives in Las vegas Neveda at this time. These people would call here a week in before her car payment was due! Well her husband had lost his job and it was hard making ends met. She was behind two payments, which I don't know how she got away with this.
My sister went into there office on a friday evening at 7:00 p. M to pay her back two car payments. The place closed at 7:30 P.M. She gave the woman at the counter her payment of $600 dollars cash and the woman gave her a paper that said she paid her pament, thus showing proof she paid what she owed. The following day which was a saturday my sister's husband left the car in front of her house and ran inside to use the bathroom when he came out he saw a tow truck taking the car.
My sister was in a state oc shock. She called Drive Time and asked did you take my car, they said yes you are behind in your payments, this was bull! She told them at the office she paid the day before and has proof of this, they told her no we can't do anythng till monday about this.
First of all they told her no we are not going to give you back your car, you owe to much money, which is a lie they told her she owes over $5000 dollars. She got out all her paper work and it adds up to $2500 dollars.
These people are trying to charge her for towing and storing the car on there own lot. You see the woman who took her money at the office never told the girl at the counter to stop the tow company from repoing her car for fear of losing her job! These people took her car even after she paid them she only had a year left to pay off the car. Any body want to start a class auction law suit against these people? I was so mad when she told me this i wish I lived in Las Vegas because I would of told the local new's station and had them out there that day! Told them I got a great story for you guys I would of rocked there world and they would of been put out of business!
