RipOff over charged and said I needed things that I don't end up needing

I have a 91 buick park ave that I bought from my pastor a year ago. My pastor took excellent care of this car. I have taken my car into the Grandview, Mo location and was told I needed new brakes. I couldn't afford it at that time. Took it to the Raytown, Mo location and they said I didn't need new brakes. There was nothing wrong with them. But... Recently... I took my car to the Raytown location. My starter went out. They charged me over $400 for a starter!!! I have talked to 2 different mechanics since and their jaws just dropped to the floor. And they said I got ripped off big time and there is no reason it should have cost that much for a starter.

THEN. I needed a vehicle inspection. They failed it saying I need a new ball joint and tie rod. I couldn't afford it right then (a quote of over $300...) I had a mechanic friend look at it and he said "no you don't need those." I took it some where else to get inspected and it passed!

THEN... Today I had a coupon for a free oil change at TiresPlus. I just knew they were going to try and get something... And sure enough. They at first said I needed front and back brakes. Then the actual technician came in and said "no... Only the back". If I had gone off what the guy at the counter had said. I might have paid for front brakes I didn't even need. Then... The technician said I have ABS brakes. No. I don't... Well I do but they don't function and aren't necessary. So while another guy at the counter calls to check on prices and gives me a quote, the technician says I need parts for the ABS brakes. No... I don't... As they don't function and aren't necessary... And then the guy at the counter wants to give a quote of over $400 for the rear brakes. No way... I took the receipt home and of course they always do their "courtesy" check. And mind you I had just been in there less than 2 months ago for a vehicle inspection and they said I need a new tie rod and ball joint... Well their little "courtesy" inspection states that the ball joint and tie rod are just fine. And. After talking with a mechanic I was told I don't need the cylendars and drums. I just need new pads and a new brake line where it's leaking at. If it truly is leaking. Hard to believe anything they have to say there.
