We purchased a 2003 Ford Expedition from " good deal @#" at Rockenbach Chevy in Grayslake, IL. The Vehicle was good except for a broken vanity mirror on the drivers side. "good deal @#" our charming salesperson asssured us that he would have the mirror replaced if we bought the vehicle and all we would have to do is make an appointment with the service dept. And they would take care of the problem. We asked about something on the contract in writing when we sat down with the finance manager and our "good deal" salesperson asurred us he would take care of us on this matter.
Well as you can imagine they denied promising anything after the fact. They claimed that since nothing was in the deal bag that they would not honor the repair. Moral of the story... Make sure that everything that comes out of a salesmens mouth is in writting, no matter how trivial it seems at the time. Taking notes would be a good idea, and DO NOT SIGN A SINGLE THING UNTIL EVERYTHING is in writting because they will promise you anything to make a sale without having any intention of keeping that promise.
