Recently I bought a car from a used car lot. They brought in this guy from GMAC, and he got me lined up with insurance for $130.00 a month. A month later I get a bill from Progressive Insurance saying I owe them $330.05, for 1 month.
So I call them up and they tell me the guy that helped me to get insurance has recently been fired (something also about pulling another trick). Then they said they would have one of the two other agents call me back. They never did. I've tried to call back, and either no one answer, or no agent is there to help me.
This last Friday the 24th of June, Progressive Insurance did an Unauthorized withdrawal from my checking account for $560.54. I'll repeat, UNAUTHROIZED WITHDRAWAL FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT FOR $560.54.
So I call them up rightaway, and they tell me that it was for May and june, and that they're not going to give me my Money back. I said "WHAT", I told them that it was unauthorized, but that made no difference to them. They must be hard up for my cash.
So I told them I was done with them, and I no longer wanted their services, and I hung up. Then I called my bank. I set up a dispute, and I guess I'm waiting to see what is going to happen.
Am I going to get my money back?
How can they LEGALLY raise someone's rate, and not have to let them agree to it before continuing services with them, and than just go and take the money from them anyways?
Is this something I need a lawyer for? Or can the banks, or you guys help a little guy from getting stepped on by the bigger guy?
