My name is Mark. I had insurance though Progressive Insurance Company from September to December. I was on a month to month agreement with the company.in December I received a letter from Progressive Insurance Company that my premium was going to increase. I called Progressive to find out why they were going to increase my insurance premium.
Progressive Insurance Company told me that my underage daughter was automatically being insured. My daughter was 15 years old and not a licensed driver. Progressive Insurance Company stated I had to pay the premium and there were no way around it. I told them that my daughter will not be driving the car. Progressive told me that they did not care, that my daughter could steal my vehicle. I said fine, then cancel my service you no longer have authorization to debt my account for payment. Since I was paid in full with there company, I should have received a credit for the unused premiums I had paid for that month. I never receive any credit.
Several months latter, I received a notification from Credit Collection Services of Newton, MA that I owe an outstanding balance to Progressive Insurance Company of $453.06. I told Credit Collection Services that I did not owe Progressive Insurance Company any money that my account was paid in full. I also told them that Progressive Insurance Company owes me money for the unused premiums paid to them for the month. The man at Credit Collection Services said tough luck; we are going to ruin your credit if you don't pay. I told him that I am disputing this charge. The man at Credit Collection Services told me I could not dispute this and hung up on me. I had no way to contact this company until I received a letter in the mail from this company.
I had a credit check done into my credit because I have been looking to buy a home. When I did this it showed derogatory information being reported by Credit Collection Services for Progressive Insurance. I asked the company to provide me a sign contract of service with Progressive Insurance with my signature on it stating the terms of the agreement. I told them if can't provide the information then you should immediately remove this information from my credit report.
They stated they don't have a contract and they are refusing to remove it.
Do Not Do Business with Progressive Insurance Company. They are thieves and will try to rip you off by baiting and switching. If you do not not pay them they will ruin your credit.
