I recently had a major engine failure to the tune of $3,454.00 due to coolant leaking inside the timing chain cover to the crankshaft bearing. Over a period of time, this caused the crankshaft to fall out of line thus destroying the motor. My mechanic, whom is a good friend, advised me that this has been a common problem which is well known thoughout his profession. I have religiously maintained my truck and had no warning of any kind, that this was going to occur. After some inquires, i found that the mechanics at the ford dealership were also aware of the problem, but after talking to the manager in charge, i was told that they had no idea about this situation. After taking it to the ford complaint hot line, i realized that my problem was in their eyes, just that... My problem. I was hoping that someone who has had this problem could give me some insight about what options i have.
