Douglas Nissan Of Orange
California Dishonest Dealership That "Lost" Over $6,000 In Equipment After Sale

Let me summarize my experience with Douglas Nissan Of Orange,

First off, I went in a offer to pay them what Edmunds True-Market-Value was for the new car that I wanted to buy. They agreed but told me that since LoJack was $1,900 which was their cost, so I was forced to add $1,900 to the price. Come home and found out that the cost to dealerships was under $600, so the dealership made a big lie here...

Anyways, I agreed to trade in my truck which had over $7,000 of upgraded audio in it (navigation system, tv, subs, amps... Etc), and the dealership agreed to remove the equipment for me within 24 hours in return for the factory origional equipment which I still had. I agreed, and walked off in a brand new car.

The next day, I call the dealership and ask if the equipment was ready for exchange and the sales manager told me that they could not remove the equipment from my truck until the bank financed my loan, which made sense to me, so I agreed with the sales manager to allow them one more day for the equipment to be ready for exchange. I was told that the dealership would give me a courtesy call when the equipment would be ready.

The next day, I receive no call, so I go down to the dealership. The sales manager goes and looks for my truck, and suddenly it is missing. I am forced to walk around a huge lot and finally they say that the truck was taken "off premise" and locked away for 5 days and that there was nothing they could do about it, and nobody could help me until then

So I wait another 5 days, (we are now almost 5 days after when I was promised to have my equipment returned to me). I go into the dealership with all my factory origional eqipment, and the dealership still can not find my truck, ask me to come back in another day. I refuse and speak to the dealership general manager. After speaking to him, he tells me that the dealership "probably" sold the car with all my $6,000 navigation system inside the truck, and can not get it back.

Now I have to come back in two days to discuss how much the dealership is going to compensate me for stealing over $6,000 in audio equipment from me. They try hinting to me that my equipment that I have receipts for well over $6,000 is only worth $1,500, which I absolutely refuse to accept. Then they say that they want to give me a written contract saying that I will either get my audio equipment for $1,500, but I could discuss the $1,500 at a latter date after I sign the contract... Yeah right. I refuse.

Now I have to wait another two days to see how much the dealership is going to give me for my $6,000 navigation system that they stole from me. I do not think I will even budge of the price, since they stole it from me. Either they give me the full amount of money, all my audio equipment, or I will call the police department to the dealership and file a grand theft report right in front of them.

Big hassle, and would highly recommend that you go to buy your Nissan at another much more reputable dealership!
