My husband and I had went to Eastern Automotive, b/c of past credit problems, especially in the past year, we had a real bad year with 2 deaths in the family and having to take time off of work and leaving our jobs to help take care of family, so at that point nothing was more important than being there for our family in there time of need, Yes, we know the credit is really poor, so we checked out eastern automotive b/c of " Your Job is Your Credit" I filled out the application, then called there to confirm they had received everything I had submitted, then as well I had spoken with someone who told me that, they pull a credit report.
When I asked what they pulled a credit report for I was told that this determines your debt to ratio income, and the intrest rate. We got past that, we had a trade to use, and live over an hour away. Again I asked other questions inquiring about things, what I needed to bring and so forth, so we did not have to make numerous trips with our schedule it is hard to do so. I called a second time and spoke with the sales manager, So i asked him if I come down there can we go home with something the same day. The response I got was "YES" We were supposodly "pre-approved" for 19,000 because of living an hour away, I asked the gentleman, knowing that the cars on line would not be at each dealer ship, so I asked him,
If I give you the stock numbers will you be able to have those vehicles I request on the lot when I get there, the answer again, "YES" He told me to call him back the next day after getting the stock numbers so he could have the cars there for me to look at. I again called him the next day asking the same questions again, about poor credit, how much we would need to bring for down payment with a trade, i was told 250.00, anything else that would be needed we could postdate a check and leave it at the dealership, and again asked can we do this without having to run back down b/c i live this far away, again "YES" all the answers were yes, until we get there. (I had picked out a selection of 5 vehicles that were online, out of those 5 vehicles only 2 of them were avaliable, supposodly 3 of them had been sold... Which by the way are still showing on the website for sale.
My husband was leary to begin with but no not me, I kept reassuring him this wasn't so. When we get there, we were told we had to fill out this paperwork, so I start to fill out the paperwork, and only with my husbands info, b/c I work from homeand the only way to prove my income is by my bank account. They took the paperwork and we waited for a while, the guy come back and said, we need you to put your information on here to, FOR WHAT? A minute ago everything was fine, now I need to put my information on here too, I said I work from home and cannot provide pay stubs, NOT A PROBLEM he said, we will just use the bank account. I fill out my information, wait a little while longer, they come back again and say, well you will have to wait until tomorrow, we have someone who will do it, but the banks are closed now, and we can't do anything until tomorrow. I told him specifically that I had called three times and asked 3 times if we could do everything that day and I was told YES, and that if they didn't do it that night i wasn't coming back, so he said hang on a minute, so he come back again and said sorry we can't do anything... I WANTED TO TELL HIM TO KISS OFF!!! I just drove an hour for him to say "NO" & Not to mention that NOT ONE OF THE CARS I HAD REQUESTED WAS SITTING ANYWHERE ON THE LOT!
As I was doing all my waiting, another salesman was on a cell phone screaming at someone about coming in there to buy a vehicle and that they don't set the prices, that the bank tells them how much a car cost and what the intrest rate is, as well as I HAD BEEN TOLD ON THE PHONE THAT ALL PRICES OF THE CARS ARE AROUND THE KELLY BLUE BOOK and negotiable, what negotiable for the worst, for the customer who is already down, and you want to kick them somemore? They have very poor customer relations, and they LIE— IF YOUR JOB IS YOUR CREDIT THEN THAT IS WHAT IT SHOULD BE, NOT PULLING A CREDIT REPORT, IT IS ALL FALSE ADVERTISMENT!
Not to mention I had told them 3 times that my husband works seasonally, that during the winter he is off work, the rest of the year he works, however did not draw unemployment this year, So technically he just went back to work in March, since last November. Which had been told to them ahead of time, and I was told not a problem, however when getting there, THEY SAID that the length of time at his job was a problem. He worked for the same company!!! Hello... I could see if it was different companies, but he was off for winter... I was honest and told them how they work it, and they were down right dishonest to US! They lie, do not go there!!!
