Dishonorable, non-responsive, ALERT! Ripped us off over $2500 on NEW SUBURBAN

In 2001 my husband and I purchased a USED 2000 Suburban from CLOVER CHEVROLET (NOW known as FRED CALDWELL CHEVROLET) in Clover, South Carolina. It only had 28K miles on it and the previous owner was a US AIR pilot, so those were primarily highway miles.

The transmission went bad at around 58K miles in the beginning of 2004 so I took it to our local Chevrolet dealer since Clover is about 40 miles from our hometown. They told me a head gasket needed to be replaced b/c it had gone bad. This was around $1,000 to fix. Three weeks later my CHECK ENGINE light came on AGAIN. I took it back to them and they said something else was wrong w/the transmission and we were charged another $1,000 (estimated).

I turned everything in to First Extended Warranty Corporation and they refused to pay for anything. Abernathy's then refused to do anymore work on my Suburban and told me to take it to the dealer. The dealer, formerly Clover Chevrolet, had sold-out and couldn't even find my warranty paperwork. I had to get it from the Credit Union I financed the Suburban through.

Fred Caldwell Chev. Was evidently having problems with First Extended Corp. As well. So where am I to go? So I located the salesman, also the Executive of the former Clover Chevrolet, who sold me the Suburban. He told me to bring it into another chevy dealer where he now worked and he would honor my warranty. I took my Suburban in there to get the transmission fixed for the THIRD time, however was REFUSED SERVICE because First Extended Warranty Corp. Had a past due account with them and they refused me service. I ended up buying a new 2004 Suburban that day, so I ended up with TWO suburbans! However, the first Chevrolet dealership that did repairs never got paid and we had to go to small claims court because First Extended Warranty Corp. Didn't pay for ONE CENT of the services performed.

The Suburban has since been sold, however the bills remain outstanding! I was told by the salesman who sold me the 2000 suburban, I would probably end up going to court over this company b/c Fred Caldwell was owed by them as well from years back, so I would be at the bottom of the totem pole. He was exactly right. First Extended Service Corp. Is a fraudulent company, not honoring the warranty consumers are paying for. Justice needs to be served and everyone who has paid for a 100,000 mile or more extended warranty, or ANY warranty from them, should not suffer the consequences due to their unprofessional and fraudulent nature. I will keep on with FESC until THEY pay for my services. I paid for the warranty and they can cover the cost!
