I purchased a moped through backstreescooters.com on 11/6/04.
Today is 3/26/05 and I STILL do not have the bill of sale needed so I can register my moped so I can drive it legally.

1. The moped itself was delayed
2. The manual had horrible grammar and the moped needed to be taken to a mechanic to get fixed (even though it was brand new)
2. The title was delayed
3. The bill of sale was delayed (I should finally be getting this 3/29/05).

This is by far the worst customer experience I've ever had with any company. Read the threads below. I have at least 10 emails saved over a period of time since I purchased it. I didn't get ANY response from multiple attemtps until I threatened to contact the BBB (to get the title) and a lawyer (to get the bill of sale). I would never do business with them again and their business license should be revoked. Try calling their phone number - I think they disconnected it now because you won't get through. Start at the bottom and read up.

I haven't heard a response yet regarding the status of my title. If you haven't sent the title yet I need you to credit my payment for the moped back to my credit card until I receive the title. My money is tied since I cannot use the product I bought from you without the title.

Hello, I am sorry you are not happy, we are doing our best to get you the title as it comes to us from the manfacturer: If the box was not to your sastifaction you were told to just refuse the order and we would send you
another: As far as the instructions they are posted on our site the the manuals are all we have and that is what is offered for a Honda engine gas scooter for $800.00. That is all we get for instructions, But did say that you could call our TOLL free hotline to a mechanic and he could help you. But do you like the scooter? We have other mopeds that sell for $1800.00 and unfortionaly they offer alot of manuals and instructions, that all comes with the price. We can do nothing about this. And as far as calling you for the delivery we give you the tracking # for you to track your own scooter. We can not call everyone and keep them updated as to when they will be delivered, as most anything you buy through ups etc. Pennys does not call to update. We will get the title to you and I will email you the date to expect it.

Can you help me understand why I have not received the title for my moped yet?

I'm going to be contacting the Better Business Bureau if I do not have the title by Tuesday, 12/7.
On 12/7 it will be one month since I placed the order with you. You informed me I will be receiving this within 1 week of my order.

I am very dissatisfied with this purchase for the following reasons:

1. The moped was delivered to me later than estimated. I initiated ALL communications regarding tracking information and status. No one took the time to inform me that the delivery date was going to be pushed to Tuesday, when it was expected to be delivered that previous Friday. I was not notified by your company - I had to call to find this out.

2. The box the moped came in was soaking wet.

3. The only literature included was a maintenance manual - with very poor grammar. It did not come with instructions on how to put it together. After taking it to a mechanic he found that the electrical wires for the directional signals and brake lights were crossed. Also, the tubes from the carb were mixed, which caused it to leak gas directly onto the motor.

4. Title. I cannot drive the moped without the title. It has been sitting in my garage for 1 month. My expectations were never set on this delay. I would not have paid $940 for this moped if I knew it was going to just sit in my garage for a month.

I bought this moped from you because I was impressed with your customer service when I chatted with you on IM and over the phone. I've had several friends stop by and look at the moped who are eager to purchase one as well. I'd like to refer them to you but I haven't had the most pleasant experience so far. Please let me know what you can do to help me with the inconveniences I outlined above.
