1997 Ford F-150 Heater Core Replacement (4 since 2008)

Our 1997 Ford F-150 is currently at the Ford dealership in Putnam, CT having the heater core replaced for the 4th time since 2008 at a cost of $1000 per heater core. The heater core has been replaced by 4 different Ford dealerships (in Westlake Village CA, Bend OR, Murrieta CA, and Putnam CT). Note that we didn't encounter a heater core issue from 1997 (when we bought it NEW) to Feb. 2008 when it first failed. I had a conversation with Ford customer support today, 800-392-3673, and was told that he will note the heater core issue in their database "in case anyone reports a similar issue". He said that Ford is not aware of the problem because no one else has reported anything. We have searched the internet and find that plenty of people have complaining about heater core issues. Evidently no one is reporting the issues to Ford. Of course this is support's required canned response. I'm sure they have a database that show quite clearly what parts are frequently replaced at Ford dealership service centers. I was told that I have no recourse. There is no one higher than the customer support tier one that I can speak to at Ford. So basically, if the heater core has to be replaced again next year, we have to pay another $1000.
