I could not believe my eyes...
I read the report given by Sherry of Georgia, and was amazed it was like I had found my financial nightmare twin.in April I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan, I made my first few payments without incident. Then in Sept. I was contacted by a customer service representative. This individual informed me that my Sept payment had been returned do to non-suffient funds. I immeadiatly checked with my bank and found out that this was a falsehood.
The check in question had in fact been cleared by my bank. They wrote a letter on my behalf and requested a copy of the check. I was sent both items and sure enough the back of the check had been stamped with Chrysler's deposit signature. I faxed both items to Chrysler and figured that they would quickly resolved the issue. To this day they have not reapplied that payment! Nor will they acknowledge that they made a mistake. From there the nightmare became worse.
In September my husband like thousands of others was recalled to Active Duty to serve in Operation Noble Eagle. We took a huge loss in our income from our civilan pay. We quickly inacted protection under the SSCRA. But Chrysler did not play fair. They refused to help us make payment arrangements, they refused to deffer or extend our contract, even though it stated in our contract that we had these rights.
They called me and harassed me constantly. Upwards of 10 times a day, with back to back calls. I suddenly started to recieve several calls a day where as soon as I answered they party would hang up. I had to get security blocker put on my phone, where the caller had to unblock and dial the number they were calling from. The hang up stopped but not the other calls. I was told by one person (April) that I needed to "get off my lazy * and pay my bills" when I explained to her my situation she responded that "it was just another convient excuse for people like me to not pay my bills and that they were not going to allow us to hide behind the military as an excuse, and that I should not have bought a vehicle I could not have afforded
They have screamed at me over the phone they have called me a liar, they have called me a B*ch. They have threatened to break into our house and sent a repo man to our place of business. They have blocked my ability to pay on line, over the phone and electronically.
When the repo showed up we offered to pay what Chrysler said we owed even though we were not behind on payments, Chrysler refused to take our money and told the Repo people to seize the car. The Repo woman sent Chrysler her final bill and left. Chrysler has said they are filing a civil suit against us.
I have since contacted the Colorado State Attorney Generals office, the US Attorney Generals office, any and all watch dog programs out there. I have also contacted my local paper and am not going to give up on this in any way. We need to start a Class Action Suite all of us need to band together we dont have the strengh alone but together we can make a difference. WE do not have to cowerdown to them, we do not need to be abused by this Corporation. Take Action in your state take action through your media do not give up.
