Dear Lazy Days
Oct. 8

We are very disappointed with your company. Here is what happened to us at your store. When we came to your company to look at and test drive some motorhomes. Joe Coupas was our salesman. Joe is a nice salesperson but was giving bad information by your managers and service department. We looked at several coaches before we decided to try out a 99 Winnebago. When we started up the coach the buzzer for the leveling jacks would not stop beeping so Joe drove the coach over to service to have it checked out.

The tech sprayed a little of wd 40 on the jack and pushed it up to get the buzzer to stop. So we took the coach for a test drive. Once we got on the interstate we tried to start the air conditioner and it did not blow out cold air. So Joe said he would have to checked out. As we were going up the interstate Joe said that the transmission was not working properly and he would have it checked out also. We left undecided and told Joe we would let him know something in a couple of days.

About 3 days later we called Joe up and told him we wanted to come and make a deal. So we did. Joe said every motor coach was checked out from bumper to bumper. That you check everything out to make sure it was working properly. This was a lie. I don't think Joe lied to us knowingly, I think Joe was mislead.

We gave you'll 3 or 4 days to get the coach ready. We got there to pick up our coach and Joe told us that you'll had fixed the air conditioner and that the transmission was checked out and it was ok. I don't know if it was checked or not.

Joe set us up with the guy (sorry I don't remember names) to do the walk thru. He told me that there was an air compressor on our coach but didn't know where the connection was that he would get the tech to show me where it was. When the tech came and I ask him he looked and said they were one but he could not find it. We were kind of press for time so I said that I would find it. I never did.

When we stayed over night in the coach I tried to get the satellite to work I could not. So I ask the tech to check it and he messed with it and could not get it to work either. When you put it on a city the satellite would point straight up. I told the tech that it should not point straight up for any reason. He told me the reason that it was pointed that way was because of the trees. I told him that it should not first thing go straight up that no city elevation would be that way. He told me to read the manual and I could learn how to use it. This made me mad but I thought that maybe someway he was right. Well he wasn't. I could get it to work by putting in the angle, so we lived it that way. It still wasn't right but living 560 miles away I would use it that way.

Next I tried the leveling jacks and they were really slow so I told the tech and he said that's the way this kind worked and the only way he could speed them up was to put a bigger pump on it. These were kind of jacks that go straight down and the jacks that I had in the past was the type that swung down. I took it he new more about them then me.

Here are a couple more things that happened while we were there. If the coach had been check out properly the air conditioner filter would not have been really dirty. We did get it replaced. We were told that we would have a full tank of gas and propane. That didn't happen. We waited to get that till we just finely had to leave. The tech kelp saying that someone would be over to fill them but they never came.

So we went on home thinking that thing were in proper working order. We got across the Georgia line and pulled off to get some gas, when we pulled up to a red light the coach turned off and would not start. I called Joe and told him my situation, so he said that he would get one of the techs to call me.By time they got me we had already called someone to tow us to there shop. The man changed the fuel filter and said it wasn't dirty enough to have stopped the engine from running that he thought that the fuel pump was going bad but it started up and we went on home.

A month or so later we used the coach for a couple of weeks. We got ready to go home and the front passenger side jack would not go up. I had to push it up. This trend continued and got worst. And the air conditioner still was not working. So I called and made an appointment to have these things fixed. (Thankfully we got the extended warranty)

On the way down to Tampa I got to Macon, Ga and the coach stopped running. I had it towed to a local dealer and the fuel pump was bad. So I had it fixed. Amazingly the transmission started working properly. I thought that there was nothing wrong with it because it had the banks system in it and I didn't know how it was suppose to work.
I called to let your service department know that I was going to be late the next day. They said it would be fine. Well it ended up taking me 5 days to get it fixed. I continually called lazy days leaving messages asking if I could come on down but no one ever called me back so I went on down to lazy days. When I got there Michelle Jones told me that they would go ahead and work on my coach.

After it was fixed Michelle called me to let me know. They had replaced the front 2 jacks and that the air conditioner had been overcharged and they fixed it. The air was not covered and I had to pay for it. Linda called Michelle and complained about having to pay for it when it was not working properly when we got it and your mechanics was the ones that over charged it. Michelle done some research on it and seen they had charged the air when we first got it. But she didn't see anything on the jacks even though Joe was the one that had them spray the WD 40 on them to make the buzzer stop buzzing. I told Michelle the back jack was still slow and she said that the warranty people told her that it was fine. So I came over to pick it up and it was raining and rain was pouring into the coach at the front window. Michelle told me that she would get it checked but it would be a while before she could get it in a stall.

We waited a little bit and decided to go on and I got some silicone and put it around the front of the coach. While doing this I noticed that there was 2 fine stress cracked in the sides of the top. I showed it to Michelle and she said they didn't work up there so she didn't see how they could have done it. I told here that I thought that maybe they hit something. She said that they didn't say anything about it. We did not have any rain for a month so I thought that I had it fixed. We are members for Thousand Trails so when we left lazy days we went to Orlando.

When we got there I could not get the satellite would not work. I had to set it up manually. I don't understand what happened to the coach but I had more problems when we left then when we got there. I called and told Michelle about it and again she told me that they didn't work up there so they could not have done anything that would have caused any problems. After leaving Orlando we went back home.

After being back home a couple of weeks we went to a Thousand Trails campground near our house. I plug up to the power and the air condition, microwave and TV didn't work. I messed with it for a couple of days and didn't get it working. I took the coach back home. Within a couple of days it started raining and the leak came back. So I called lazy day's service to see about getting it fixed. They said sense I had a leak that I could bring it on down. So I did.

I was so discussed and feed up with the coach I decided that I wanted to trade it. Being that I only had it for about 6 months and had nothing but problems with it, I would get close to what I paid for it. And too I was going to buy a new pace arrow. But that didn't happened it wasn't even close. You offered me 37 thousand less than I paid for it. This was a joke. So I left feeling mad again. So I went back to my motel room I seen over in your used lot a coach like mine. After getting back I got on my computer and seen this coach. I found that you had 2 99 Winnebago's one was 39 ft like mine but did not have all the upgrades like mine (hardwood floors, upgraded counter tops, etc.) the other was a 37 ft but had all the upgrades.

So I called Joe and ask him to check to see what you would do about trading for the 39 ft. He called me back and told me that you would trade me for 20 thousands. This was another joke. Why did mine lose so much money but yours didn't? I was expecting a have to give you'll a little money but not want to get stabbed in the back again. I had already called the bank that it was financed with and they had told me that it shouldn't be a problem. You see they don't have a lean on my title, in other words I have a clear title. I don't know who messed up there but they did. So mad and discussed again.

Joe seeing that I was upset told me to hold on that he would be right back. Well a few minutes later one of the services managers came and got me and took me to her office. I told her everything that had gone on about the problems that I had. She told me that you'll was in a big sale drive when I got my coach and you was trying to get the units out as fast as they could and my coach was probably not checked like it should have been. So now I'm the one paying for it. Also when I told her about the leak and the satellite not working she said how did she know that I had done it before bring it down there.in other works she called me a liar and a scram artist. So I left mad and discussed again. I am a Christian and I didn't want to lose my cool and say anything that would not be Christian like so I just left. I'm a non confrontational person.

Michelle called me and told me that there was some board on the inverter that was bad and they had to order them. I told Michelle that I was going home and to call me when it was ready. So about 4 weeks later I called Michelle and told her that I wanted to use the coach for a week and I would bring it back so that I could be fixed. The next day Michelle called and left me a message that the parts had come in that afternoon. This seems awfully strange. The next day she called me back to say that one of the boards that they received but thought that they would have it fixed the next day. Well it was.

Why did it take 3 or 4 weeks to get the first one and got the next one in one day. I believe that you had it all the time and just weren't fixing it. It is 560 miles as I said I can not come down here every other week. It cost me several hundred dollars in gas not counting the money for having it fixed. I have spent well over 2000 dollars on a coach that was checked from bumper to bumper.
Throughout this whole thing everyone would say we are going to help you out and do everything we can to make you happy. That was the furthest thing from the truth. I can't see anything you done for me. All the things you done cost me money.

We travel around the country and we will tell our story when ever and where ever we can. You don't how you'll can do business like this. I guess you mostly deal with new units and these people don't have any problem. While I was down staying in one of the local hotels I was telling the lady and the front desk about what had happened with me and she told me she hears that a lot about your company. I told Joe this and he said it was just her opinion but it not it was just what she hears. I also told Joe that your price was to high on one of your units that someone else was cheaper and he told me I couldn't compare you'll to a ma and pa place. But it looks like to me I would have been better off going with a ma and pa place and you should mirror them instead of being so high and might. Where a hand shake means something besides a way to turn you and around and stab you in the back.

P.S. I came and picked up my motorhome and the work done on it this time was not professional as it seems to be normal for your business. See the satellite had to totally be replaced because parts for mine were not available. They did not run the wires where the old wires were running. They have them running about 18' away from the dish but they have 32' of cable. The cable is only attached to the roof for the first foot from where the hole goes into the roof of the motorhome. The rest of the wire is just lying loose on top of the roof. I guess this is something that I should have checked before leaving your store but I was still expecting better quality of work from you. I will not do that again. Everybody kelp telling us that they was going to do something to make things right but that didn't happen. All that your business has done for me is cost me money and headaches. According to my checking account and sense I bought the motohome from you it has cost me 2080.33 in repair cost. This is not including the money for gas and motels rooms. I do want to thank you for making available the after market warranty if I did not have it we would have paid around 6 or 7 thousand more than we did. You can have your dollar back that you sent me for filling out your customer response questionnaire. I don't want anything from your company and seeing that all that your company thinks about is money and not treating people the right way. Finally I would like to thank you for taking the enjoyment out of rv-ing for my wife and me.

I wrote this to Lazy Days several months ago. Sense then I am having more problems. It don't stop.
