About five weeks ago I started working at my local DQ in Abingdon, VA. My first job. Not expecting much from what i have heard about the place i went to work. Everything was going fine it seemed. They held my check for two weeks like they said they would when I had my interview. No complaints there. Yesterday would be my fifth week. Getting paid three times already i expected my pay check to be right, ha, it wasnt. I worked 5 to close (10, getting out at 11 every night for cleanup) 3 nights that week. But i only got payed for 10 hours exactly on my check. Only 65 dollars. Naturally i wanted to talk to a manager. So i talked to the district manager who happened to be at our store that day. I told her that i worked well over 10 hours and that she wasnt paying me for all that i have worked. She told me to bring in my clock and and out sheets and they could fix it.By this time my mother was on her way because she wasnt to happy about this either. My mother finally got there and told her if when we bring her my clock in and out sheets and she doesnt fix it (because we all know she wont) then she will have to call the labor board. The district manager replied with i dont know why you are trying to threaten me ma'am. I said i would fix your daughters check and i will. My mother replied with well i know how this store works i have heard many complaints about this store and your management and i am not to happy right now. I know when she worked and she worked well over what you are paying her for. The manager replied with well maybe she is too dumb to clock in and out. Once i heard this i clocked out (because i know how to do that) took off my hat and shirt. Layed it on the counter. Got my jacket and walked out. End of that.
