My wife and I went to the Applebee's on Central Ave.in Toledo, OH for dinner.
We sat at the bar and there was one women sitting alone. Shortly thereafter another women joined her and was extremely loud and obnoxious, talked loudly on her telephone and using a few profane words. We moved to the far end of the bar but we could still hear her like I we were right next to her. Then we moved to a table as far away as possible.
The manager walked by and I commented to him about these women. He said they were "regulars" and I told him if I were manager they would no longer be "regulars". I would have ask them firmly to leave and not come back.
I paid for my beer and we left the restaurant. The manager apologized and said he would speak to them. The manager's name was "Mike". Frankly, he didn't look to me like he had the backbone to speak to anyone. As we left I notice other customer's looking in the direction of the bar. It wasn't the ideal setting to have a quiet meal.
We had gone to this restaurant several years ago a couple of times and the service was awful. We waited at least two years before going back. Before this episode we had been there twice and everything was fine. This was the last straw, however, and we will never return. That is a guarantee!!
