A tiny hard foreign object in my sushi roll piece cracked my tooth. The tooth could not be saved & had to be removed. This company has ignored me & has not paid any of my medical bills. I am sad & mad be

On the evening of May 11, I ate at Naked Tchopstix on College Ave in Indpls. We were there to celebrate 3 birthdays. About 10 other people were at our table. I had never eaten at this restaurant before. Early in my meal, I bit into a piece of sushi roll, heard a 'crack' and felt pain in my mouth on the left side.

I do not have any dental work in my mouth and have never had a cavity, so a shooting pain upon drinking water was new to me. I contacted our server, who found the asst manager, Kim Hendrickson. I told her what had happened and that I would be going to the dentist the next day. She gave me a business card with her name written on the back. I left early from the party because of the discomfort and pain.

The next day, I made an emergency appointment with a local dentist. After examination and x-ray, they told me the tooth was split up the back and could not be saved. It had to be removed asap. The dentist made an appointment for me to have it removed by an oral surgeon on Friday, May 13.

My husband took off from work and I rescheduled business meetings and I had my tooth removed. I spent the weekend in bed, caring for it and taking pain meds. I have attempted to stay in contact with the management and owners of this restaurant, Naked Tchopstix, through this.

The night of the incident, Kim, the asst mgr, told my sister-in-law that they were going to take one of the rolls I had taken a bite of, off the menu and gave her a VERY SMALL ($25) gift certificate for me for the inconvenience... Which I am holding onto for evidence, at this point.

Megan, the General Manager, says things to me like 'they are sorry', 'the owners are aware of the situation', and 'the restaurant has never had this happen before so they are at a loss as to what to do'. Their communication with me is only when I contact them. I have called 6 times and sent a letter.

The detailed letter was dated 6/15. It was delivered and signed for by Alli Brew, on 6/17, at 12:49 PM, at the College location. It was addressed to Jena Williams on the envelope, but the letter was addressed to the owners, Maggie and David Lee, Jena Williams, Kim Hendrickson, and Megan Lassiter. Enclosed with the letter was documentation from the doctors verifying that the replacement tooth cost will total at least $4495.30, including what I have already paid to have it removed. I allowed until yesterday, 6/30, for them to contact me or for me to receive payment from them. I, once again, have not heard back or received any communication.

I feel I have been ignored in the hopes that I will go away quietly. Wrong! I am missing a tooth after a few bites of their food during what was to be a happy celebration. Naked Tchopstix needs to be honorable, take responsibility for what they serve for customers to consume, and pay for my medical bills.
