I took my 12 year old daughter, who had a toothache, to this dentist who's supposed to be good with nervous children. They also said they had laughing gas. We went in. He was rude and unfriendly. I told him the problem. I asked that he x-ray her tooth. He didn't.
Instead he looked in her mouth and said she would need a filling in a different tooth. I thought he meant on the next visit. Then, without consulting me on any treatment plan, he pulled out a needle and began sticking my child! No gas, no warning, no explanation at all, and not even on the tooth that was hurting her!
She started crying right away. I asked him what he was doing— she needed gas! By then he done. I was so mad! I asked him why he didn't give her any gas? He said that there was a pregnant lady in the office so he couldn't. I told him they should have let me know so we could have rescheduled. Then I realized he wasn't even working on the tooth that was hurting her! I don't even know if a cavity was even in this tooth, he didn't do any x-rays!
My kid was still crying and he started drilling— she wasn't numb yet! She was crying in pain! He said she was just acting up and told her if it hurt more to raise her hand and he would stop. She did, he kept drilling on her! I got really mad and told him to give her more novacaine. He did, but told me to leave the room.
I told the receptionist what was going on and that I would not pay this bill. She went to tell the dentist to put a temporary filling in the tooth so we could go some where else, but it was too late. The tooth, now killing her, was filled! If I'd known I could have just had a temporary put in I would have yanked her out and went home right when he started drilling.
I thought if I left at that time she'd have a big, open, painful hole in her mouth and I'd have to take her to the hospital or something. So, I let him finish, her crying the whole time. He never even came out to talk to me or appologize or anything!!!
We left, her crying, me furious! I didn't pay the bill. Then when we got in the car my daughter told me that when I had left the room he told her "to knock it off, it was making him look bad". Oh, my God, he's lucky I didn't hear that! I had to take her home, get her some pain meds, an ice pack, she missed dance class that night, and school the next day because I had to take her to another dentist who finished the tooth right. He also x-rayed the tooth that was hurting to begin with, it may need a root canal— this tooth the bad dentist looked at and said was fine.
My kid is still so upset and I'm so mad I can't stand it! Now this dentist sent me a bill! Is he crazy! I told him I'll be contacting my lawyer. I don't even know if she even had a cavity in the tooth he drilled. Now he wants money? Plus I had to pay for the other dentist to fix things right the next day! And guess what, she didn't cry for him one bit! Stay away from this dentist!!
