Brown meat hidden by black plastic backing

On May 23 I answered my door to a young man who claimed "a neighbor of yours over ordered their meat package from us & we're giving good deals to anyone who purchases it". OK, I'm all about a good deal. A second young man (Caleb) appeared to be the boss & spoke to me about the packages available. After telling him repeatedly I could not afford the product at the moment he offered me a rate much lower than originally quoted & against my better judgement I said I'd try a case (5 boxes). I asked for a pamphlet & a receipt & was told he'd just used his last one of each but hand wrote his name, the company name & his phone number on a post it. He told me if I had any problems to be sure to call him.

The following weekend I decided to have company over for a Memorial day cookout. As instructed, I left the meat frozen until I was ready to cook (about 6:00 pm) but when I took the meat from the packaging I saw that (hidden by the black plastic on backside of each package) all 8 steaks had been thawed & refrozen & was brown in color. YUCK!

I called Caleb immediately even though it was later than I normally conduct business because I was pretty mad & really very embarrassed that now my guests would think I have rancid meat to serve them. I luckily had chicken out also & did tell Caleb that I'd be trying steaks out of another box which he said was fine. He told me a manager would contact me that evening. The call never came.

The next day I again contacted Caleb & at 11:30 in the morning he said " I haven't even loaded my truck for the day but as soon as I do I will be over to replace the box & give you a little extra for your inconvenience". No show, no call... NOW I'm furious. Tried contacted USAs (haahahhhaa) customer service number & got a recording. I've never in my life known a company to have a recording for customer service.

Today is wednesday & I still haven't heard back from anyone at the company or Caleb.

Do not purchase from these people... It's a fact they are liars & I for one will tell everyone I know exactly what happened.
