First Impressions Valet
Broke Remote/Key and Refused to Reimburse for Damage

After a lovely evening meal with my wife at Brasserie Pavil, we exited the restaurant and presented our claim ticket to the valet. After several minutes our car arrivedonly it was not our carnot even close. We informed the valet of this and he very hurriedly drove off to find our car. A few minutes later, our car did indeed arrive and looked fine. We then drove off.

It was only when I arrived at home and reached for the key/remote to turn off the ignition that I realized that the key/remote was broken and just barely dangling from the ignition. The valet must have broken the key/remote in his haste to retrieve the correct car.

I called the restaurant the next morning to report the broken key/remote. They provided me with the name and phone number of First Impressions, who I then promptly called. David (Bartley?) assured us that they would take care of the problem and after a couple more phone calls finally faxed me a claim form. I received, completed, and faxed back the claim form three days later. Nine days later I purchased the replacement key/remote and immediately faxed the receipt to First Impressions.

Ten days later, after a few more phone calls and voice mails, David indicated that he never received the claim form. I immediately re-faxed it along with the receipt. Nine days later, after receiving neither a call back nor a reimbursement check, I contacted the restaurant and faxed them all of the above information. They promised to be sure to get it to the valet company.

A week or two later, after even more phone calls and voice mails, David with First Impressions stated that the claim had been denied by the corporate office. When I asked why, he stated that it was because I had not reported the damage immediately upon entering the car. I then asked him how often he examines the key in the ignition when he picks up his car from the valet. He admitted that was a good point and promised to make sure I received reimbursement for the broken key/remote within three weeks.

I never received any reimbursement from First Impressions nor will they answer or respond to my phone calls. Im currently waiting to see if the restaurant will take care of this problem since First Impressions did not follow through on the damage they caused or their promises to correct the situation.
