About a month ago my husband and I were running some errands and drove by this "Steakhouse" and decided to give it a try, since we have not visited them in over 10 years.
It was a Saturday, and we were the second ones to be there (at 4:00 pm). The experience was outstanding. The service was great and the steak were delicious and tender. For the price, it was the best deal.
We loved it, so we decided to go back yesterday.
Again, we went a little after 4:00 pm and there were a few more patrons this time. We placed our order and ordered some "mixed drinks" like we did a couple of weeks ago. The steaks came, but they were not a hot from the grill, just like lukewarm as if the waitress had forgotten to pick them up.
This waitress was not very good, because she didn't come by to check if everything was OK and we had to waive and flag her to get another round of drinks.
We didn't complain, and eat our dinner. When we asked for the check, to our surprise it was $20 over we had paid previously, even though we had ordered the same thing. The check showed $8.50 per mix drink even though on the menu it read $3.50 mixed drinks.
We called the waitress over and she answered that we had "premium" brands. We didn't ask for premium brands, just regular mixed drinks, and her response was "Well, you drank them." Can you imagine the nerver of the waitress to come baack with that answer!!!
We were furious and asked to speak to the manager. When she came to our table she explained that the waitress had entered "vodka" into the system and that automatically means a Premium drink. We told her that we had been there a few weeks back and had ordered the same items and the same drinks and the difference was $20. We had not asked for Premium brands and that we should not have to pay for them. Again, the manager argued that some of their customers are picky and want a specific brand. We told her that we DID NOT ask for a specific brand. She said that she was going to take the Premiums out of the check and proceeded to take our drinks, that we had not finished!!!
Of course, at this point, we are not going to ask for our drinks back because who knows what they will do to them when they bring them back but were were shocked to the waitress' reply...
Today we check our online bank statement and they show that they charged the original amount ($20) to the bank. Hopefully, that is just a mistake and they will rectify it when they send the paper bill to the bank.
BTW, we kept the receitps and we only gave 10% tip to the waitress. We houldn't have given her anything, but felt that 10% would piss her off more since she didn't make the whole 20% we usually tip.
Now, consider this is a "not fancy" restaurant. Very casual atmosphere. The food is great but the service is really poor. If you guys visit them, keep an eye on the check.
