A few years ago I went through the drive through at a jack in the box located at Val Vista Rd and Southern in Mesa AZ. THe boy handing me the hot coffee was in a rush as many cars were lined up behind me, he quickly handed me the coffee cup but he released it to soon. As a result the hot coffee burnt my hand and lap. I screamed at him what are you doing, he said something to me like "well you have to hold the cup tight". I was furious, i parked my car and walked into the jack in the box in pain my hand was red and throbbing and i was in great pain.
Everyone i spoke to in the jack in the box had a blank look on their face, duh?
So i asked to see the manager, the manger took several minutes to come to the counter and i stood there in burning pain. When i told her what happened she actally seemed somewhat unconcerned and uncertain what she should do, she had no leadership qualities at all. Finally i was having so much pain at this point i asked if i could have a rag or towel with ice, instead they handed me a wet cloth. Sheeesh! Unbelievable stupidity!
The manager was just about as dumb as a bag of nails, she said she didnt know what to do. I told her if you dont know what to do why dont you call the area manager, duh. Hello! She disappeared in the back office and was gone about 10 minutes while i stood there in pain. Finally i couldnt wait any longer i went to the hospital and they gave me an exam and put sav and wrapped my hand and gave me pain pills.
Later i called jack in the box, i was given the run around for days, finally i reached the owner of the store, he wouldnt commit to anything, he referred me to his attoney. The attorney ignored me for several days, finally he said that he felt jack in the box was not at fault and they owed me nothing, but because of my inconvience they would give me $150. I told him to stick his $150 dollars.
I had decide that the terrible way jack in the box treated me and they way they avoided me they should pay for my pain and for the doctor bills. I had planned to get an attorney and go all the way with this. Then a few weeks later my life changed when i was diagnoised with cancer, as a result i was side tracked from my law suit plans for almost 2 years.
Im posting this on complaints so that you the public are aware of how these jack in the box people treat their customers. No one cared from the bottom employee to the top executives to the attorney about my suffering and medical bills. They care nothing about the pain they caused, they are disrepectful, cruel and noncaring. To say the least i have never used jack in the box services since that time and i have told everyone about what happened to me. I ask all reading this not to use jack in the box for your dining. These people are not worthy of our business and our money.
