RE: Return of items left by SL
Dear Ms. Askew-Bawl,
Please let this notice serve as a final request for the return of the digital camera, flat screen LCD television w/remote and power cord that was left in the Manager's safe by SL. He was not allowed to retrieve these items upon termination of employment.
SL advised me in April that he wished to use these items (that I purchased for the home) for company related business (training of other employees) and felt that the items were secure in the company safe in the manager's office. He had the only keys and access to.
On June 14, SL was placed on suspension and was asked to surrender any company property to you. He gave you his company ID's, swipe cards, and the keys to the establishment. He was not given the opportunity to remove any personal items at the time.
As standard procedure at most companies, a terminated employee may not immediately return to get personal belongings from the premises unless it is done so at the discretion of management. Any personal items belonging to the employee is normally forwarded at a later time, or at times the company may make arrangements for a mutually agreed upon date for pick up. I also believe this should be done in a timely manner.
You were advised upon relinquishing the only set of safe keys that the items were left in the safe and he would like to make arrangements for its retrieval. Numerous requests via phone conversations and voicemail have been made since June 23. There have been no attempts by you or any other representative of Paschals/Concessions to return these items.
If failure to do so, please be advised 30 days from the date of this notice a Civil Suit shall be filed with the Fulton County Court for the return or the actual amount of these items $1111.41 plus all court costs incurred.
